  1. Ah - yeah. Fair shout. I forgot they made them - just 6x9s are so much more common I guess.
  2. Just the one little clip, but damn... No brakes...

    Internet Story

I really want to come across something like this that's real. I want to go on a quest. So bad.

Precisely. That comment was not exclusive to this thread. It was more the sum of repeatedly screwing people around. Everyone has bad times... There might be an instance where they agree to sell something and then fate takes a shit on their personal life which has a knock on effect with the sale... But if that happens, they first of all have a valid excuse, and they don't let it happen again. I've seen three dispute threads with your name on, and there's no doubt others I missed.

I might've only just come in to the thread, but I read the whole of it, so what's the matter? I was just hoping you'd been lying up 'til now and had slipped up. I really f**king hate people with the attitude you're displaying. You're the ones that make honest people worry about buying second hand from this forum. Nearly everyone here is fine, but there's the select few - such as your asshole self - that make it difficult to trust anyone.

Does that mean you've NOT posted them yet then?

    16:9 Or 4:3

Yeah. Thanks I thought maybe the thought behinnd it was that at some angles, being close made things look bigger or faster or whatever... If it's just to get a better range of shots... that makes more sense to my head Ta.

    16:9 Or 4:3

No no no. Thanks for not taking it as an argument, but that's not quite what I meant. I'm not asking for a justification of using 4:3. I'm asking why you think getting so close to the rider is important. Does it make a significant difference to something filmed from slightly further back but still in 4:3, and if so how (in your opinion, or if it's been proven in someone's research or somethihng)?
  9. Just to check... Is this to be a 24", or a BMX/Mod hybrid? I've been thinking about streety but still trialsy mods recently, and I think 985 would probably be a tad short. Will give a more comprehensive response when I know if we're talking about the same thing or not
  10. Stick a little microphone next to it, an amp inside the front triangle and whack some sick-ass 6x9s on your bars.

    16:9 Or 4:3

Just as a sidenote of curiosity, does being "up close and personal" make a significant difference, or is it just a style you personally like? I can't say I've ever paid it any attention, but I don't feel like we're missing out on any action with videos shot from a distance... Is it one of those things you only care about when you've been told about it? Had that a few times... Not even thought about something, but when someone's pointed it out to me I can't help but take note of it.
  12. Pretty hefty bump, I'm aware - but god damn. I just got this album, and HAD to share it with someone. Remembered this thread. ALL dubstep (the aggressive type, not liquid) enthusiasts should download the album Avenger by Hecq. Here is but a sample of what you can expect:
  13. 10 points that man! 20 points Landing was rancid. Will do it properly for a video though (If my frame ever turns up.)
  14. In a word - yes. I went on a Matt Pengelly's bike in Bristol, and I'm pretty sure that was +90. I was accustomed to +70 at the time, been riding it for a while, and even that seemed outrageous. Sure you'd get used to it - but if you go for it, expect it to feel VERY weird to start with.
  15. Sweet riding, but damn... Loughborough really is shit to ride, isn't it Seeing it after so long of not riding it has just reiterated the point to me! Hah.

    16:9 Or 4:3

I would love to see a crankset capable of running a 4 tooth sprocket. ...Almost as much as I'd love to see a hub capable of running a 3 tooth sprocket.

    16:9 Or 4:3

All very fair points - I still say 16:9 though

    16:9 Or 4:3

You remind me of my ex-housemate. He would doggedly defend professional music studios should be recording on to tape. For ages, he just refused to even listen to others' arguments against it, and how the benefits of digital simply outweigh the benefits of analogue. Eventually, everyone had barraged him so thoroughly that he took note, and suddenly he's fully understanding of digital, but has a mild preference of tape where possible. I'm not saying 4:3 is awful - you seem to object quite strongly to that - I'm just saying that, although you might like the 4:3 aspect ratio, it's a thing of the past. If you want to use it for artistic purposes that's absolutely great - but to make something the mainstream will enjoy, 16:9 is simply the way to go. I'd also say we don't prefer 16:9 solely because of Hollywood. It's a LONG recognized relationship - even the ancient Greeks recognized it. The relationship of phi - 1.618:1 - is a very prominent feature in a hell of a lot of things that are recognized as the most aesthetically attractive examples of their category. It's built in and around nature absolutely everywhere. In fact - it might be more accurate to say nature is built in and around it. It's a big old read, but there's no shortage of information about it on the internet if you're interested. It might sway your opinion a little. www.goldennumber.net is a good place to start, if you do. Just to reiterate - I'm not downtalking 4:3 at all. Just pointing out that 16:9 hasn't come about for no reason.

    16:9 Or 4:3

I prefer 16:9 because it very nearly fills my screen, rather than having two massive black strips down the side. I know not everyone will have them, but that's why I prefer it.
  20. ...No. I can assure you I was quite unaware of your existence.
  21. That's SO COOL. I guess if I'd ever stopped and thought about it I'd've realized they would've done this, but I hadn't. What an awesome idea! I'm another "don't ride with music except very occasionally on solo rides", but: Autechre, Four Tet, Ratatat or Mount Kimbie, of recent rimes.
  22. I was laughing at the distinct lack of speed I was exhibiting actually Was going SO slow, but still got there - not that I understand how. But yes, you're right. It was a very fun ride.
  23. Yeah. I like to. Comp 2010 was Emma. Bionic B4S was Sarah. Lite 2011 was Lucy. Marino is to be Mia. Bikes built around frames from before Emma or borrowed frames between Lucy and Mia didn't get names. ...Apart from the '05 Python, which has become affectionately known as The Serpent of Misery.
  24. I know you made it, 'cause I saw you do it the ride before, but come on... A rider of your standard putting on-offs in a video? ESPECIALLY when you can actually stay on it. Everything else was proper bangin' though. Especially the rail line.
  25. Already said - but I like it so much I'll say so on here too YES. I want a better camera now Really really cool - but as Rainbird said... Bit slow-mo heavy.
