  1. ...So what if he DID switch to ride the M5? If you're good enough that people will let you do that, and you want to, what's the issue?
  2. No - that's fair enough - just know that that's not how we meant it, either. It was less a comment directed at you specifically, and more an observation of the average rider. If someone posts a video, even if they're amazing, where they're not wearing a helmet, you can literally guarantee what one of the first two comments will be.
  3. No. No difference whatsoever, largely due to the fact that the wheel still has a 20" outside diameter.
  4. Couldn't agree more with this. Having said that, I wear one all the time 'cause I'm a sketchy b*****d
  5. Get some 24" specific forks. Same dimensions as 26" just with the mounts lower down the leg.
  6. First one had an awesome groove, but it was a little repetitive, and was a long time coming. If it was busier, maybe it could stay that way, but I'd definitely say it needs more variety (though what's there is really cool). Snare got a little irritating too. Second one really wasn't my cup of tea, so I won't comment on it other than to say the bass synth 0:52-1:06 was sweet. More variation, and more focus on it
  7. Then maybe the +35 1090. It will feel long though. Just to reiterate, wait for some stock riders to reply. If I had my way, you'd be getting a +70, 1010
  8. Vincent Hermance, Damon Watson or Ali C?
  9. Depends HOW new-school, and what sort of new-school you want. Comp, TGS, or a modern streety geo? Edit: Though coming from a Pace, whatever you want to do, I'm pretty sure it'd take you a long while to come to terms with +55mm on the BB. I hate stocks - so don't take my word for it, but +35 1090 sounds rank. Another vote for the +35 1070, mainly because it's a bit more similar to what you know. I've been on a Ozonys Cannibal V3 (very +35, 1070) which was alright, and I've been on a Coust V2 (+40, 1100 I think) which was horribly long. Also been on an Inpulse R26 (+50, 1090) which sums up everything I dislike about stocks (sorry Kyle ). Cannibal was certainly the most rideable for me, but then I'm a mod rider through and through so you're probably better off ignoring everything I just typed Not too sure why I'm even replying. Ah well - it's written now.
  10. Awesome. Would've liked a slightly more even trials:BMX ratio, but whatever. Still sweet as hell.
  11. ...£80. ...For a piss pot with a visor? ...Jog on. (Plus I think they look silly )
  12. Sorry - I didn't mean it like that. I was trying to be funny, not an arse. ...Apart from the bit where I said it was awesome. I meant that bit.
  13. That was awesome. I love watching people with a compy riding style on street. Three tips that would've made it perfect: 1) Don't use a song that a million other people have used. 2) Make it considerably longer. 3) Lose the ridiculously short shorts!
  14. This is what your post reminded me of (just need to dub "spelling beeeeee" over "bugga maaaaaaan"). Edit: For anyone that doesn't know - that's from the Metal Bikes Dead Bang BMX DVD. I suggest you go watch it. It's great.
  15. Please tell me you don't actually think they're all referring to that one mistake? It's more the horde of others surrounding that one that raised the issue, the one in the title was used for humors sake.
  16. Yeah. Edit lower definition clips, get it all snazzy, save the timeline, open a new one, import the timeline, exchange low definition clips for high, render.
  17. If you stick with Premiere, but smooth playback is the issue, look in to proxy editing. I never actually tried it since I had money at the time and bought a reasonably decent tower, but if you read through both pages of that it seems pretty simple, and VERY effective.
  18. Sweet video. Great thing to wake up to! Wish we had that spot - looks real fun.
  19. There's quite a lot of Linux options, but if it's just for one video that's not really worth the effort. If you were going to do many, it might be worth converting, or at least setting up a Linux partition. (Linux and software is free, and that's assuming you would rather do that then get some Windows software from under the table. Newer version of Premiere gets my vote if you do that.)

She's obviously never moved house I love having a big stack of books up one wall of the room. I think it's got great aesthetic value - but hardcopies are expensive, and when moving house twice a year (oh student life!) they're extremely cumbersome.

They can be I tend to be naughty 'cause I'm a student (read: skint), and I don't agree with paying for digital stuff. A lot of the books I want are almost the same price as their physical copy, so I definitely don't pay for those ones. They're about as easy to get hold of as music - though they quite often don't have the chapter markers in (when they're there, you can press left and right to skip to the next marker), but that doesn't bother me.

What do you want to know? They're a fair bit of money, but if you read a lot, it's paid for itself by the time you've read 15-16 books. They're dead handy to have instead of carrying books around. They can play music while you read - but only through the files on it sequentially. It's not a media player. It has a browser (if you get a 3G one, the 3G connection is really rather quick) but it doesn't support multiple windows or flash (meaning no youtube videos or anything that opens in a separate window. Battery life is amazing. I charge mine about once in three weeks, an I use it quite a lot. Comes with a dictionary already on it - you can read through a book and use the directional keys to place a cursor over the word and a definition'll pop up at the top or bottom of the screen. They're multiple format friendly: .mobi, .epub, .pdf, .doc, .txt and probably others I've yet to come across. They're comfy in the hand. You can highlight bits and make a note of them in a note file, then if you open that you have all the things you highlighted in one place. You can't create text documents, which would've been nice, but that'll probably come along in a software update at some point. Can't think what else you might want to know. If there's anything, ask away - but the Amazon services are really great. I've asked questions of them via email three times concerning the Kindle, and each time got a response the same day.
  23. I ride Leeds with Carl (CalopS on here) quite a lot. Judders when he's available, Cocky when he can be bothered, and Pogo when he's not injured
  24. Thanks everyone. I'm already doing a fair few of these things, but I'll start doing the others too. Hopefully it'll work. I do read before bed - but it's almost as bad as watching films. I get really engrossed in it and forget I'm supposed to be winding down. Suddenly it's 04:00 I've never taken sleeping pills - always just hacked it up until now. Might consider them if it gets much worse.
  25. I don't know if I normally sleep alright and go through phases of finding it difficult, or if I always find it difficult and go through phases of finding it easy. Either way, I'm finding it very difficult to get to sleep at the minute. It's been a problem for a long time now - on and off since early teens. I've been to the doctors about it twice before, and all they tell me is to be sure to get some physical activity done in the day, and to have a milky drink before sleep. I do get activities done during the day, and warm milky drinks don't help (nor do I like them ). They also say look at my diet. Granted, it's not particularly healthy, but it's not terrible and it's not changed since I was in my last good-sleep phase. Do any of you have any tips? I struggle getting to sleep before 03:00 almost every night, and I feel like I've not slept at all if I don't get around ten hours. 04:00-12:00 is the only eight-hour sleep that feels like a night's sleep, but that interferes with daily life, obviously. When I'm in a good sleeping phase, I'm fully refreshed on about seven. To hopefully put it in context, on Friday night my housemates had a houseparty, so I didn't get to sleep 'till around 04:00. I was riding Coventry on Saturday, so had to get up at 08:00 to leave at 08:30. Drove for ~2.5 hours. Rode reasonably hard from 11:30-16:00. Drove an hour back to my parents' for a family meal, and I still didn't get to sleep until around 02:30. It really sucks. I'm so tired, but I can't sleep. Any pointers/advice/tips much appreciated. I know this isn't the right place to ask for help, but the doctors never say anything useful, so I'm just after your personal experiences. Ta.
