  1. I can't condone it as I personally hate how they ride, but I've not heard of Ice's breaking very often. The old ones used to, but they fixed that with a gusset, I think. Certainly don't have a snapping reputation.
  2. I put this category of music in the same basket as Sun O))), Merzbow and most of Venetian Snares' albums with a profanity in the title based on (in my opinion) a distinct lack of substance. I know it's not something you can really answer - but I'll ask just in case: what is it about it that you like? On a side note, I have a jumper scrunched up in my helmet, which is perched on my handlebars. I just glimpsed it's reflection in the window and absolutely shat myself thinking there was someone behind me
  3. Now I want a super compy bike They're so good.

    My Ride

That looks lush. Have you ridden any Echo 24"s? I'd be interested on how you reckon they compare to each other.
  5. Really? What makes you think that? I'd never've made that connection.
  6. It's not necessary, no. It's main advantage is protecting against scratches, though I personally reckon having bits of tyre ziptied to your downtube looks far worse than the scratches it prevents. On the plus side, it will protect against any deep gouges a sharp corner might cause if you got unlucky, and it also offers a marginal protection against dents too - which might prolong the frames life a tad.
  7. When it starts snapping/coming apart regularly, or if it's done so 8-10 times irregularly. I know I should do it a lot more often, but Z510 HX's are so damn strong! Changed mine last week for the first time in over a year, and that was the skinny one!
  8. You just executed an alarming percentage of the lines I've been joking over for the past while, expressing only a modicum of effort. Edit: Just watched again... Utterly outrageous.
  9. I don't see any frozen bananas on your stem... Elsewhere about your person, sure, but on your stem? Not that I've seen.
  10. Awesome! Just in time for this year's
  11. Paid and done. Can't wait.
  12. You don't have to, no. It might help with progress a bit - but if you don't enjoy it, don't do it.

    Pavel B X8

Riding was as phenomenal as ever, though as a video I feel your previous efforts were better. I'm not sure why, there's nothing I particularly disliked about this one - just not as "watchable". Super-crazy riding though. Jealous to the max!

    Carbon Fibre

I've known how much better carbon is since it started being used when an engineer friend spoke to me about it, but I've never been able to properly trust is. The last test literally had my jaw hanging. I thought carbon was strong in the way the first two tests demonstrated, but it's major drawback was impact to the sides. Cannot believe how resistant to "knocks" ( ) it is! Why are we only just starting to see carbon frames?! I'd trust frames before forks purely 'cause of all the stress on the steerer/crown. I'm TOTALLY on board with the M5 now. I didn't like it 'cause I thought it'd splinter and shred, but looking at whacking it on a concrete block says it'll probably take more abuse than an ally frame! Amazed - so glad you re-posted it.
  15. That was cool man Do you ride alone by choice? Really massive bummer if it's just that there's no other riders near by Hope someone of a similar level moves near you and you get back in to it - loved your style and imagination shown in your videos over however long it's been.
  16. Well SOMEone's got some money Swiiiiiiiiiish.
  17. Not fair how good he is... SO jealous.
  18. Been curious to see you on it since you posted that you'd got it. Think it was probably a good idea to switch after all Nice.
  19. I know, right? That's totally why I wish clutch hubs were better.
  20. Meh. Why don't we just coat the inside of brake hoses with a layer of hydrophobic paint, if we're getting in to this seriously? Edit: As well as the inside of the cylinders and the pistons.
  21. So did I - but I was so bad at setting them up I reverted to a mag The times I got Josh set it up for me it performed notably better than any Magura/Echo I've had, but I don't like having to get other people to set my bike up for me Another vote for Vees rather than tank brake fluid. Staryarm, you made a suggestion which you thought might work. People gave you fairly hard evidence that it will be to oil as oil is to water, and you're going to do it anyway? As you said - it's free so there's not much to lose, but you know it's going to be worse... I'm all for experimentation, but if the theory behind said experiment states it'll be worse than the original we moved away from, it seems like a waste of effort.
  22. Bitch please, Ross Clayton is SO last year. That was cool. Super glad people are starting to bring variation in again, but those barspins look really weird... I'm learning them too and never thought to try like that. Might give it a go - but it still seems like cheating a little Experimented with a stiffer gearing? You seem to do a lot of rollbacks having to backpedal like crazy all the time. You get used to it for more trialsy stuff, but I guess I'm not one to talk since I run lighter than most people
  23. Brakeless > dual disc > front disc rear mag > front disc rear vee > front vee rear mag > dual mag > dual vee > front vee rear disc > front mag rear disc > front brakeless rear disc > front brakeless rear mag > front brakeless rear vee > front disc rear brakeless > front vee rear brakeless > front mag rear brakeless.
