  1. I thought they only started on the Limey 2? If they were also on the Limey 1 then I retract my guess because I'm clearly a n00b
  2. The top-tube kink was much more pronounced in the Toxsin. My first thought - which I'm beginning to doubt - based on the dropouts, hanger, BB yoke and headtube gussets was the original Onza Limey. Can't find any pictures to check against.
  3. I recently got the MTB out the loft and have been chugging around my local woods because I noticed the time I most enjy riding at the minute is when me and a buddy set "Moto style sections" - climb this rocky bank, descend that gnarly chute. It's a full sus, and I'll be riding it for the foreseeable because it's what I have (and what I don't have is money), but I really like the idea of rigid for the simplicity, reduced cost and reduced weight, as well as practical functions like being able to treat it more like a trials bike with both wheels locked and shunting about. My question is to the people on here with On-Ones, and the like: should I pursue this thought, or will I reap the benefits of bouncies once I get used to it? It seems much harder on the climbs, but the posture and head angle etc. make the rock-garden descents much easier than the Hex. But for every descent there is an ascent, and I don't want to walk it. Think Chris Akrigg style riding, but much, much shitter Edit: Note - Not super fussed the idea of a hardtail. Also sticking to 26". They're big enough already.
  4. You really are good at this! My suggestion would be to make your own. Or if you're not good at the kind of thing, do you know anyone who is? It's a fairly simple thing to make - just make it nice and bulky with lots of material spare so it won't break.
  5. I've said it before and it'll never stop being true: I f**king hate humans.
  6. Thanks. Just found a source saying that there's a way they can grab the money back even via FaF by going to the bank, saying they were scammed and to do a charge-back from the bank to PayPal, and then PayPal would take it from me. That coupled with some weird phrasing and linguistic quirks (possible typo's like "thanks you" etc), I'm pretty certain it's a scam. Update: Tried calling their bluff and said I'm fully happy to drive it up to Scotland for them to see it before purchase as I want them to be confident in it, and they asked for that to... not happen It's a scam.
  7. Been trying to sell my van for a while and finally got a nibble. It's a person in Scotland who can't come down, and says they can ONLY pay me with PayPal and send a courier to collect it. I said I didn't want to because of the fees (to avoid directly accusing them of being a scammer), and they said they would send the money before sending the courier, and would send it Friends and Family to avoid the charges. Is there any possible way to be scammed when RECEIVING money via Friends and Family? I read things published this year saying that FaF immediately means you have no protection as the sender, but nothing coving this case. Something about the phrasing used in messages just feels suspicious, but I don't know how it could be a scam - please help lol thx
  8. Any IS +20mm mount, for both front and rear. For Hopes, that's their F mount.

    Oxford area

They don't come on here, but find Josh Leech and Sam Wheeler on Facebook/Messenger or Instagram. They're both based near Oxford and super friendly

I know some people here used to be this way inclined, but unsure if they're still around. How rough is it? I've never been and I have no friends and I'm somewhat wary of going alone because experience tells me people get a bit rowdy at metal gigs, ontop of my existing social issues. I know there's good people there too. If truth be told I'm very out of touch with the scene and don't know any of the other bands on the day, but Meshuggah are headlining the Saturday. I am keen on them and I've wanted to see them for years and years so I'm thinking to just get a day-ticket just purely for them. They don't come to the UK very much, understandably.
  11. Well, maybe you feel terrible, but the bike looks lovely! haha. Just keep riding - it'll come!
  12. Yep. You might even say that they're "little over priced if you look about for what they have sold for" They were only £30 when new!
  13. The geometry difference is just in the head-angle, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. The difference will be quite minor. I don't have any personal experience with Extention frames, but I've heard some good things and some bad things. My interpretation would be as follows: If you want to save a bit of money and have something that is good enough, go for the Extention. If you value very high quality components and want something you know you can really 100% trust and can afford to pay for that, get the Inspired. If you're still torn, just go with whichever you prefer the appearance of. They're so similar I doubt most people would notice the difference in geometry, and riding a bike that you think looks nice makes an appreciable psychological difference to how much you enjoy riding it, I think.
  14. People are getting some pretty worrying definitions of old-school, these days Came in here expecting a V-Racing or something!
  15. No. I got the 2018. I think it's largely similar to the current one, but with a bolt-in rear hub and non-integrated headset, and a few things like that. They're a lot nicer than the old Hexes. I always loved the look of the early ones, but hated how they felt. The new ones are a lot more responsive, and based on my couple of weeks experiece, they ride very trials-like with a longer bar/stem combination. (Nothing wild - just the kind of thing you had on your pre-Hex bikes.) Come to Radfest and try it out
  16. I ended up on a Hex because I couldn't find anything else suitable. I wish you luck!
  17. Somewhat confused that criminal damaged can't be condoned, but physical assault is celebrated?
  18. People SHOULD be charged with criminal damage. 100% agree. The people protesting are knowingly doing it, and so have accepted that the cost is worth it. That's why I'm saying they should do better criminal damage. If you're going to prison, at least make it worth it! Edit: Full transparency - I didn't realise these people weren't going to prison. I was operating on a fully formed concept that they were doing these things KNOWING they'd be paying for it, but decided it was worth it. If they're not, that's f**king bonkers.
  19. Oh right. Haha. I don't really keep up to date because when I do I get borderline suicidal. Yeah, at least that's getting people upset in the right industry. Just do that loads, loads more. Then even the oil companies might take note because it'll be hurting their precious, precious sales. Edit: Does smashing the screen actually prevent a sale taking place? I feel like if you needed fuel you could just run some in and take a rough guess at how much you'd used.
  20. That's actually a really good idea. I guess they don't go for it for the same reasons terrorists historically target iconic things. It's the symbolism rather than the actual effect. If terrorists really wanted incite terror they'd be much better off f**king up the water supply, snipping power/communication lines, poisoning random tins of food in supermarkets, quietly sabotaging bits of railway in the middle of no-where and other stuff like that which would just make people feel unsafe going about their daily lives because literally everything is a threat. But they don't. They want to send a message, so they target famous sites. So as a parallel I guess they're not going to glue themselves to a pump because that's only one station for as long as they last. If they get the concept across (which they won't), it would have a bigger impact. What might work is if they went around damaging all the hoses though. Five minute job - slash all the hoses or destroy the pump triggers and run off to the next station. Do all the stations in a local area in a day and you've caused people a right f**king mess.
  21. I'd go a long way out of my way to not have Jitsie written anywhere on my bike!
  22. You definitely should! It does - basically indestinguishable from the Mk2 Ashton in terms of ride feel, except a ridiculous amount stiffer. Only downside so far is the saddle gets in the way a bit. Planning to make an Ashton style scoop to cover the seat-tube as low as possible. Should also save some weight and look absurdly cool too, which won't hurt
  23. ... That there is an incredibly valid point 😅
  24. Had to get a new framekit. Getting used to it.
  25. I definitely wouldn't have the gumption to do it, but I can see why they do it. It seems a progression from "We've tried discussing things, and people say they want to do something about it but then nothing changes." If lower key things don't work, you escalate. Look at how just about any conflict goes. And what they're fighting for is one of the biggest things going, so things can escalate pretty far. I think the issue is that they (or others with the same intent) DID do the other options to try and get people on board, but they were just ignored unless someone found a way to make money of doing something that incidentally aligned with their goal. SOME of them are clearly just assholes, but I think some are just desperate, and reasonable actions have failed them, so they've resorted to unreasonable ones. If people actually acted on the things they're rightly concerned about, they wouldn't feel compelled to do them. (Again, some would probably just find a new cause to do them for, but they're the aforementioned assholes.) Not necessarily condoning it, but I can understand it.
