    New camera fun.

Correct on both accounts! Framerates are giving me nightmares at the minute. It only supported 25fps in 1080p, or 50 in 720p. I really like the concept of 1080, so that won the argument since I VERY rarely use slow-mo anyway. Only did that one because at 100% speed even I couldn't see the ET, and I knew it was there. I've since found out how to switch over to NTSC (courtesy of Mr. Westlake ), which should make it marginally better. Thanks for the tip though! And thanks for the nice comments, to everyone else.
  2. There is ALWAYS point in trying something. If it's worse, at least you know for a fact it's not something that might be better. He said he didn't know if it'd been tried before or not. In this case it had, but if it hadn't, are you seriously saying no-one should try it 'cause what we use at the minute is passable? At one point, Hope Bulbs and KoolStops were considered good.
  3. Trialtech. I'm amazed people even need to ask this Every time it comes up, the answer is almost unanimous. If you want something a bit different to the norm, or are a weight weenie, there are better options, but if you want fit-and-forget forks, it's crazy not to go Trialtech. My last set lasted very nearly two years, and they had my big fat bashing and crashing to contend with. (I break a lot of stuff )
  4. They used to knurl rims waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when brake pads were made of leather. Seen a couple of pictures on here of people trying it and it's as Canardweb says. Allegedly gives a horrendous lever-feel, too.
  5. What if you're destined to die in a crash next week? Do the past five years of your life get erased from the tapestry, and everyone else's re-written, or do you just die on the spot as if you were to die in five years time?

    New camera fun.

Basically just wanted to give my new camera some sort of initiation ceremony. Pretty poor riding due to it only being a few hours on a wet day with far too much food inside us It was fun though! I know the darker shots are pretty iffy, and I've a good idea what I need to do differently next time to stop it, but if you want to tell me, that's just fine - and I'll appreciate the help if what I'm thinking is wrong (Today was quite literally the first action it's seen. They didn't look nearly so bad on the small screen! Haha.)
  7. Is he running the new prototype Try-All Ghost tyre? Looks sweet.
  8. What editing software are you using and why are you converting? Is the video widescreen on your PC? It definitely should be, but isn't Google "[insert software name] change aspect ratio"
  9. It dawned on me as I watched his other videos back, and then these clips, that I've been taking Kyle's riding for granted. I see him do it all the time, so it's sort of become the norm. Taking a step back and considering it properly, I realize just what a monster he is. Certainly one of the best styles of [primarily] TGS riding I've seen, and it's very refreshing when he throws in the odd bit here and there that's really not TGSy at all. (Won't be ready for another hour or so, but going to bed so Santa can visit.) [Edit: Stuffed the link up, fixed it.]

    Dominik Raab

I just found saw this on Tribalzine... Didn't much enjoy the video, but I REALLY enjoyed the riding. Some seriously large shit going down, plus some super tech. Nicely mixed up quantities of streety vs. trialsy, too! https://vimeo.com/55294078 Sorry if it's a re-post, I hadn't seen it.
  11. As above. If the total combined stack height is equal to the length of the steerer, the topcap'll bottom out on the top of the steerer and won't be able to squeeze everything together. Try it - measurements might not be quite accurate/etc, but I'd imagine you'll need another spacer (just put it on top of the stem if you know what you said is exactly what you want). Frame, fork and headset are all standard fit 1.1/8", so will work fine (if that's what you meant? I'm a little unsure).
  12. Fair enough. Since I already know I won't be wearing one, I bought you all a pint of N2/O2/Ar/CO2/trace-others cocktail in advance. Enjoy!
  13. Rock'n'Roll and 54Sport are probably the next in line. There's not many about.
  14. ...Except for the glorious fun that it was. Edit: By which I mean - a lot of fun was had in the filming process. People must've had fun in trials back when it first kicked off - regardless of style - else they wouldn't've carried on. Just saying that's one thing they have in common
  15. If nothing quite fits what you want, and you don't trust Marino to make you one, a Jaf is a good option. I know my opinion's bound to be biased, but whatever Edit: What about getting someone (like Jaf, perhaps ) to weld you Marino up? It's plain sailing with steel, so reinforcements could be added if you wanted them.
  16. You mean... rolling along? Thanks. Haha.
  17. No. Largely because they're Phatties.
  18. All of that was f**king awesome. So many things to comment on I don't even know where to start, so I'll skip straight to the end: Watching Ali's part... I don't know of any words to describe my emotions. The only comparable likeness I have is this, which is 100% on the money:
  19. I'd just like to point out to the people who are identifying them by the backings: You can only say they are Phat backings. It's entirely possible someone ordered Belay refills and put them in their existing Phat backings. In this case you're right, but you could just have easily been wrong. Just sayin'... Assumptions can be dangerous.
  20. Blimey. Mine was a long time coming, but yours is actually worse now! It's a good service at a very good price, but he runs it fairly badly.
  21. Of recent, me and my friends have been lamenting over how if you didn't know where to ride one day, you used to be able to come on here and find pretty much any ride that was happening. I'd like to bring back that. Unfortunately, our rides are always organized last-minute style, so not a massive help. We're going to Huddersfield tomorrow - meeting at 11.

    New Hs33 Brake

I'm glad I now know that. ...Two years later
