I think he means if it's splined, why can't you just turn the freewheel over. If that's what you meant, you can't do that because the splines aren't the same all the way around. There's a thin and fat one to ensure you have things the right way around that wouldn't fit the other way up.

It's true. Homie can riiiiiiide yo! I see him far too rarely

I've been wondering for a while when/if this would ever happen. So glad it finally has. I normally can't get in to mototrial videos at all - but I got properly latched on this one. It could potentially be down to the lack of engine noises, but never mind. I can't begin to imagine how much skill that takes.

You might still have problems. Do yourself a favour and get a 127/127.5/128mm BB Edit: Forgot to say - build looks swish! Would be nice if you could get some better quality photo's when you've got the crank issues sorted. Chrome hub looks sweet - I hope it works well and you don't have to change it. -
I know it's only from my experience - but whereas I've had a lot of problems with screw-in BBs (coming loose, bearing death and dead splines), I never had a single problem with my Echo press-fit one. Could this system be run in one of Deng's frames, or are the diameters different? I'm about to get a new frame made and am currently angling for a BMX/Deng BB shell. If it needs to be larger I might consider asking for that BB shell and run shims and an Echo BB until these come out. Definitely interested to see if they can stand up to brakeless.

That's the worst part... This isn't a folding bike! Haha. -
I don't object to it being used, but why does everyone bang on about tapered headtubes? If you do it properly (á la Trialtech) they're plenty strong enough already. I definitely like the idea of catching up with the rest of the world in terms of drivetrains though. It'd be nice if it could play nice with Deng/BMX parts, but if going AS30 means splined freewheels are more likely to happen then I'm all for it. I just hope that a divide doesn't develop - some companies use BMX size, and some AS30. I DEFINITELY want a set of these. Press-fit BB is the only way to go, and I'm fully behind the idea of splined freewheels.

I used to really love watching Vince's videos. So massive, and so sleek. The size is still undeniably impressive, but his style is just f**king gross now. Same with Gilles He was my mostest favouritest, and now his riding is just ugly (even though it's mind-destroyingly large). Fontenoy has gone up in the ranks of compy riders for me after this!

That was sweet Not long enough. Very chilling outing.

Not to mention running a chain I thought the same as everyone else even though I saw it in the flesh just the other day, and it didn't have them on Thought it might've been an afterthough until I thought about just how impossible to run they would be. Haha. Freaky photo angle is freaky! -
"Nailed" isn't the word I'd use."Occasionally-fluke-through-them-on-a-good-day" is more accurate Thanks though!

Just need to insert some grammar He's basically saying "if what you want already exists, but without one particular feature you want, what's wrong with getting it made?" And he's perfectly right. These sort of things aren't copying for fashion - they're copying because they're just a good idea. Breath frames are copying Sky 2 frames, but this is using something someone else did for a practical reason - not a bandwagon. It's like saying modern stock frames are copycatting mod's 'cause they've got horizontal dropouts! Or Deng for copying BMX for having press-fit BBs. Or whoever copying whoever first made dropouts with grub screws instead of snail cams. There's been a couple of Jaf frames made that weren't stiff enough in the back end, so these gussets add that bit of strength needed. So I heard all your frames are practically the same because you all have headtube cutouts. -
It's a standard BB tool. It comes off exactly the same as any other freewheel - it's just a different shaped fitting. It'll only break if you're doing something seriously wrong.

Koxx Sky frames also have a very high BB. -
Correct on both accounts! Framerates are giving me nightmares at the minute. It only supported 25fps in 1080p, or 50 in 720p. I really like the concept of 1080, so that won the argument since I VERY rarely use slow-mo anyway. Only did that one because at 100% speed even I couldn't see the ET, and I knew it was there. I've since found out how to switch over to NTSC (courtesy of Mr. Westlake ), which should make it marginally better. Thanks for the tip though! And thanks for the nice comments, to everyone else.

There is ALWAYS point in trying something. If it's worse, at least you know for a fact it's not something that might be better. He said he didn't know if it'd been tried before or not. In this case it had, but if it hadn't, are you seriously saying no-one should try it 'cause what we use at the minute is passable? At one point, Hope Bulbs and KoolStops were considered good.

Trialtech. I'm amazed people even need to ask this Every time it comes up, the answer is almost unanimous. If you want something a bit different to the norm, or are a weight weenie, there are better options, but if you want fit-and-forget forks, it's crazy not to go Trialtech. My last set lasted very nearly two years, and they had my big fat bashing and crashing to contend with. (I break a lot of stuff )

They used to knurl rims waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when brake pads were made of leather. Seen a couple of pictures on here of people trying it and it's as Canardweb says. Allegedly gives a horrendous lever-feel, too.

What if you're destined to die in a crash next week? Do the past five years of your life get erased from the tapestry, and everyone else's re-written, or do you just die on the spot as if you were to die in five years time?

Basically just wanted to give my new camera some sort of initiation ceremony. Pretty poor riding due to it only being a few hours on a wet day with far too much food inside us It was fun though! I know the darker shots are pretty iffy, and I've a good idea what I need to do differently next time to stop it, but if you want to tell me, that's just fine - and I'll appreciate the help if what I'm thinking is wrong (Today was quite literally the first action it's seen. They didn't look nearly so bad on the small screen! Haha.)
