Saying 100 grams makes absolutely no difference is pretty much the same as saying 10 trips to the gym makes absolutely no difference, and thus it's not worth doing - and I'm pretty sure you'll disagree with that. The difference is usually small (though I personally feel dropping 100 grams on a front tyre, or forks, or changing from a freehub to fixed and FFW ((though the latter is more to do with distribution, admittedly)) makes a very notable difference), but if you want to make improvements and you can afford it then it's definitely worth doing. Doing a poo makes very little difference as it's the weight of the bike that counts, not the rider/combined weight. The weight of the bike matters more since once you've jumped the height necessary you have to drag the damned thing up with you. A bigger difference would be made by wearing shorts instead of jeans - which is something I also personally feel makes a difference (but again, that could be more to do with range of movement than weight).

That was cool Personally, I would've liked a few TGSy bits thrown in to the mix, but that's just because that's how I like to ride Nice one.

Golly Gee Mr. Travis, you're a long way south!

who's going to be the first person on here to buy one of these?

Do you realize quite how ridiculous this comparison is? -

I dunno about outlasting a decent one (newer Onzas, some Deng etc. [Edit2: generally frames that are as light as sensibly possible without compromising strength])... (Edit: Not to say it won't - but I'd be surprised. Alloy frames have a lot of experience and testing, where as this is the first production model - there's bound to be necessary improvements to make that only get spotted once lots of people ride them.) I can happily see it outlasting a Sky or Bjorn etc. though. Just didn't want to state it as a fact since it's pure speculation, and I'd hate to fall under the same category of people I'm having a go at It's an encouraging sign that it was in testing for so long. If it'd been a Deng project, he'd no-doubt have just produced it, and let the punters find out what does and doesn't work Ali - I believe that "weight" should've been "weigh", and the "130" refers to "130lbs", which is strange as I thought the UK was the only region of Europe stupid enough not to have gone fully metric. ...But I'm fairly sure you knew that (assuming that's what he meant), and are just playing the antagonist -

To all these people claiming they'd snap it just by looking at it: just how the f**k would you know? Sure, they won't be as strong as a non-SL-alloy frame, but you have absolutely no grounds for claiming it'll snap straight away. Maybe I'll get proven wrong and they'll be a total disaster, but you guys are the ones constantly complaining that trials is so far behind other cycling disciplines technology-wise. How can we move forwards if you'll just shun anything new on the basis that it might not work? Crewkerz made an AS30 BB/crank/freewheel system and you all lost your shit 'cause it didn't fit a different standard. Sure - they might've gotten a better reception had they gone BB30 instead, but at least they're trying! It's not overpriced, either. You're mostly paying for the "new" technology, design, effort, and the prestige of it being the first production carbon frame (not to mention the Monty logo), not the weight advantage. -
My guess goes at them being bought from someone/where on the Europe mainland, and couldn't be arsed to swap levers over and re-bleed them Looks sweet. Try-All certainly aren't subtle with their branding, are they

There's customer reviews on Tarty's product pages - or are you looking for bikeradar type reviews?

Thank you for intervening. Things could have gotten ugly, had you not got here first

No-one asked you to

+ pads... I can't see melted epoxy-resin soaking in to them doing brake pads much good Expensive habit that one. Haha.
-
It's not "like", it "is" Cool riding though! You get to a pretty wide range of cities!
-
Just looked this up. That's even cooler than the other option! Disadvantage of not running brakes: failure to keep up to date with awesome as shit innovations
-
Really? I thought that was just the reach, rather than the bite. Do the Saints run a larger master cylinder and smaller slaves so the pads move more then? That's a fooooooking good idea!
-
BB7 with an SD7 lever for cable, MT2 for hydraulic. MT2s are perhaps the nicest feeling hydraulics I've ever sampled. Saints are super-powerful, but I there was something about the lever feel I didn't quite like. Much more cost-effective, too! Just a shame you don't get any bite adjustment - but then they are more budget brakes.

because gelprless.... properly finished pics at end of thread

Don't you like it? Reverting to the Echo, or something new? -
Wait... Does that mean you actually understood and recognized it from that shitty description, and it was the one I meant?!That is just incredible, if you did.
-
Eugh. Isn't that just always the way?! I skimmed through the four earliest albums twice over, and missed it, then found it pretty much straight after asking! 3:20 onwards. Thanks anyway Edit: I guess no-one would've got it... I remembered it somewhat differently to how it actually is

Looking for a particular track. I can only remember one particular bit, which could be an intro but I'm pretty sure it's a cutout/breakdown: Everything stops (unless it IS an intro ) except for a guitar - it's hard-panned to the left speaker. It plays a really broken rhythm in a funny time signature and has had the high and low frequencies clipped (it sounds like it's coming through the phone, sorta, for people who might not know what that means). After a couple of cycles (think it was a two-bar loop), the second guitar joins it - this time hard-panned to the right speaker. It plays the same rhythm, but it's shifted back half a bar, so sometimes they both play a note, sometimes it's just the left, and sometimes just the right. It creates a really interesting compound rhythm shared between the two parts, and repeats a few times. Then the rest of the instrumentation joins back in. It's been a VERY long time since I've listened to metal/nu-metal/whatever - maybe six or seven years - so I know it's not on the Wrath or Resolution albums. It might be on Sacrament, but I've got a feeling it was older than that. There is a slight problem in that I can't remember with 100% certainty that it was Lamb of God. I'm ~98% confident, but there's an outside chance it might have been someone with a similar sound (Chimaira, American Head Charge ((sorta )) or DevilDriver type bands). Would massively appreciate anyone who can help out - I know a sketchy description isn't much to go on...

Incredible. There truly is a new generation of riders. So weird!

Tenthed. Like others, I assumed it was just me. Re-installed Chrome and everything -
You are so new-school it hurts. I'm by no means old-school, but damn. Was it also you that didn't know who CLS is, or was that someone else? (Not a dig - just... Wow )
-
Not so much "silly"... It just wouldn't work Solid one-piece chain, rigid plastic brake cables, disc calipers molded to the rotors, solid levers, no bottom bracket in sight (even if it WAS plastic ) and zero bearings... Just a FEW of the flaws in this "kit" Box is far deeper than needed for panels supplied, wooden waste panel on floor from cutting out the frame parts, even though they're mostly pre-cut in the picture above... Seems more like a really poorly thought out art project than even a concept - let alone product
-
Yeah. I was just trying to clear up that it's not the frame's fault some people find it uncomfortable

I've been on a few. Not particularly keen on stocks full stop, but these seem incredibly versatile. One of them is one of the few stocks I actually kinda like, and one of them is the worst abomination ever to have been bolted together. All down to the spec!
