I dunno. I had a Tensile 96 with two missing pawls for a long time, then it finally died and I switched to an SL and it didn't seem to make much difference. If you ride it, I think you just get used to it and get more practiced at preloading the drivetrain. Especially so with brakeless.

If you value your life even a little you won't get a Block8. Honestly the worst tyre I've ever had, shortly followed by the K-RAD. I currently have a Maxxis Grifter. It's fairly middle-ranged in weight, but has only washed out twice (in the wet) in the 18 months I've had it on. Yes - 18 months. The wear-rate is f**king awesome, without sacrificing much grip. They roll forever too, and I've only had three punctures with it on - all of which I fully deserved Slicked Crawlers, Montys and Try-Alls are all great too, but the semi-slick gives that little bit more grip in wet/dusty places. Considering winter's on the way, I'd try and avoid full-slicks

Call me a pedant if you must, but just shut up. Stick to your guns and go down blazing, or don't imply you're the universe's fount of knowledge. Either or. (Spelling aside! Crikey!)

35° and lose a stacker is always an option if you can't get a 30° you like.

No. They're not. Stop saying that.

Why is everything yellow?

I'll forgive you since you admitted to falling asleep - but my point was that the MT2 levers are made of the same stuff as the HS33s, and they're definitely more than "just plastic". (Talking about the lever bodies here. Not sure about the blades.) I purposely kept that brief - if you still can't understand then there's no help for you.

Slightly less good for me (except, not really), but I like that you're enjoying life.I also enjoy the less tactful, more brutal side of you that not working there brings out. It's delightful! Edit: Leon. You're dead right. Carbon fibre is carbon fibre. Congratulations! What dragged you down from a First Class Hons to a Third was the rest of it. I can see where you went wrong - it's unfortunate as if you hadn't made that one mistake of totally disregarding cognitive reasoning you would've ended up just fine. It might "appear to be just plastic" to you (which it doesn't, really), but it's not. If you'd've stuck with your reasoning, you'd've arrived at the conclusion that where carbon fibre is carbon fibre, carbotecture is carbotecture. Carbotecture != plastic. It involves plastic, but is not comprised entirely of it. I had MT2s which were also made from it and I can assure you they are not "just plastic". I agree, some things aren't in need a flashy name, but things that are [edit2: entirely very] different from something else do require some form of distinction. If that goes by way of it's name, so be it.
-
Glorified plastic in the same way that carbon fibre is glorified plastic, you mean? I'm not defending the brakes - I didn't like them either - I'm defending carbotecture.

Cool! That looks sweet. What about running the cable through the bars? There's already a big hole in the stem clamp, and no stress going through that part of the bars anyway... just drill a hole through the bars and run it straight through the stem. It'd tidy up your cable routing a little too, which is never a bad thing with cable brakes.

That's so weird. I was thinking of starting a thread where everyone has to make a compilation album of their most guilty pleasures. For me, it's this: I don't really enjoy the verses, but f**king hell. The chorus is so amazing. But it's absolute trash, and I both hate and am disappointed in myself for enjoying it.

It wouldn't ride like that bike, that's for sure. ...But then, neither does mine, and I don't feel that it's shit. Choose your phrasing more carefully

You guys... This is NOT a two year old video. This is his section from Trial Noir. I'm not totally sure when it came out, but it's more circa 2006/7, rather than 2010. It's also definitely not a Mongoose. This came out LONG before that happened. They're not even Mongoose stickers. I'd also go with it being a Megamo classic, but not sure. Could be some old-school thing from before my time

Worst tyres I ever owned.

Yes. It will

I could watch him ride all f**king day.

Yeah dude! Some beastin' lines in there. You're certainly not afraid of drops/heights. Haha.

Ah right. That'd do it! Haha. I'm kind of in the same situation with my bike. Going to front, I've always had a longer bike. Now I've ridden short bikes for a couple of years and would hate to go back to a long one, but I find properly committing to front really hard - feels like I'm just folding over the bars and gonna die rather than actually helping. Have you found any ways of getting past it, or do you just hack it/never had that issue? Watched it again... Super fun vibe! Edit: Why did you switch from the Skye? TOO short?
-
Sorry - nor did I. It looks a bit weird 'cause Ben's REALLY tall. Very high bar height (with a respectably steep head angle) and rather tall seat-tube make it look different to a usual 24.
-
I liked that rather a lot. It was nice to see someone going to a skatepark and not instantly changing how they ride to exclusively do things that conform to what people think other people are expected to do in them. The wallride (/splat ) to manual was sweet

What's this Vimeo rubbish! Upload to YoooouuuuTuuuuuube I jest - I CAN watch it at work, but I have no sound so still have to wait Excited to get home! Edit: Fun times! The Skye looks kind of awkward going to front... Does it feel like it? Sweet lines/riding! Dropping down to a straight-on rail is whack.
