Right, I KNOW it's know trials, I KNOW this is a trials forum. Now that's settled, I figured I want to start making videos, but I have no trials footage. I, however, did have a bit of skating footage of me and my friend Luke. Anywho... This is just an experiment to see what you lot reckon of my first attempt. It's done in Windows Movie Maker - which apparently you lot hate - lol. But it's all I've got. Sorry if you don't like the music, but I do - It's The Endless Feed, by Dark Tranquillity. I intend using it in my first trials movie so please don't steal it Between 20 and 31 seconds, I just had to put some duff clips because I don't have that much to play with Eengoedidee link As I say, it's my first attempt ever at video editting, so try not to completely crush me if you think it's pants please It's supposed to follow the rhythm of the music with the landings (also my idea for trials vid... don't steal please... ) after the weird noise bit... it's close, a couple bits are slightly out though. Is it any good? Tips on improvements if not please... Cheers Flipp (P.S. - I'm the one with long hair - there's not much footage of me )

HERE HERE!!!! I was in Halfords today and saw some "Bikehut" bars... I went over to them and there was about 8 varieties of different rise/sweep/combination. They looked almost exactly the same type of material as the specific brand bars (Zoo, Echo etc) and were only just a tiny bit heavier. Hmmmm... I might get some of these I thought, but then I also thought Ah, wait a minute, this is Halfords, they'll be about £80 I looked up and saw the price tags... The MOST expensive ones were £26.99! Now if you look at the history of this brand, (this stem review) I'd give them a go... Especially at the price they were... ...To add a little more info to this reveiw Flipp

Get a photobucket account? Very easy to do, and free www.photobucket.com and follow the instructions... Then, either post a link to the picture -NOT THE ALBUM- the picture, or highlight the bit next to the picture where it says "" (it'll be a little text box kinda thing) - and post that code in here. That'll bring it up automatically. Hope to see the photos soon, add me on msn if you don't get it: flipp1@hotmail.co.uk (or email me if you don't have msn ) Flipp

Yeah - I tightened the cones and locknuts up perfectly, not too tight so it won't move, and not to loose. I did the axle nuts up really tight so there was no room for the locknuts to move out atall... It was perfect, rode it for about 20 metres, and it wobbles like... something.... really wobbly I don't understand how, everything is tight and flush with no room to move in any direction... but it still skrews over Do I just need a new hub? Really hope not - can't afford anything... Flipp
-
Right... Been to halfords, got new bearings... Put 'em in, serviced the hub etc... set it up as you would... It all seemed fine, but then i rode it down the driveway and back up just for a test, as y'do. Got back and there's about an inch of play in the wheel... I don't even understand, much less know how to fix it... I've done the axle bolts up insanely tight so that the cones wouldn't have room to come out, but they managed it. If someone can help, you must be a genious lol Flipp
-
Yeah - I took the axle out already... I can't get the "inside cone" off it. 'Tis wedged on good and proper Should I take a pair of mole grips to the unthreaded bit and a spanner on the cone? That's all I can think of Flipp
-
Ok, it's on my BMX so it's not desperately bad, but would still like fixing. It's an unsealed hub, and I have no idea HOW or WHEN, but on the freewheel side, the little cap thing's come off and all the bearings have falllen out. Now, being the fool, I didn't think to check that, and when it wobbled I just tighetened the cones up - a lot On the freewheel side, the cone's gone all the way in to the start of the thread. I tightened it so much it's got lodged in against the unthreaded bit of the axle and wont budge... I'm off to Halfords, or maybe PedalPower ('cause halfords suck) to get some more bearings and a... (Question 1) Would it be called a Hub Cap? (the little silver bit that sits on the cones...) (Question 2) What size bearings will I need to get? It's just a standard BMX hub - nothing special like.. (Question 3) Any idea on how to losen the driveside cone off so I can put the bearings in? Any help is appreciated, but the quicker it is - the more so... (off to town at about 1:30) Thanks All Flipp

Mmmm... fairly amusing - too long though A good way to waste away time when nothing to do...
-
Yeppos... I've done it once... Put a booster on and never again though Flipp EDIT: And Wright Pads, please explain about your "dual hosing" - I'm intrigued now... a photo would be handy if it's complicated too
-
Well I had that problem - but I went into T K Maxx, and found these [what look like] glorified plimpsoles They're like, bright blue, and slip on's (does have laces but they're quite tight anyway). They're called Adidas Adventure - and were £15 A groovey price I think Tons of grip, very lightweight an flexible, and the grip lasts for aaaaaaages - I do parkour aswell (slate if you must...) and they've held up to a good 6 months of that on top of biking I think they rock for £15 Very comfey once worn in Flipp

Um, he means the "I wnt 2 no how gd u r" language - rather than what some people seem to be calling boasting. Unless I read your post wrong and you didn't know wether you were supposed to talk like that or not Either way - you're better than me at biking, so you can be chuffed with that - and don't talk in textese, it's evil y'know Hehehe Flipp
-
Yeah - I'll have one I found that (from getting lifts... I can't drive yet 6 months to go) it's best if you whack a foot pump in the boot along with the bike.... Much quicker than one of those pooey hand pumps.... Flipp

To sum up: 8 votes to Echo (9 including mine) 4 votes to Zoo. I say Echo aswell because of most of the reasons about there...: - Don't have to worry about bending disk, - Stronger for the bails you're bound to get while learning, - More medium length, so you're not totaly stuffed if you prefer short [but you don't know yet], - Looks in better nick, - (I don't know if it's got an inbuilt one, but) The Zoo! has no booster on the rear brake, - Less maintenance, and finally, - Loads of people these days have Zoo!'s, push the boat out, be adventurous and get the Echo; they've got a very good reputation too y'know! My advice would be get the Echo - if you didn't pick up on that Flipp

A video - Zoo! Python being ridden Enjoy...

Well - in all those clips, you fall off because you lean too far back (the first few clips), or not far enough (the endo method, particularly the last one). If you feel like you're going to fall off the back, drop your arms forwards, moving the bike down a bit... Gonna fall down forwards, simply lean back more or pull up harder (if it's the first one from endo)... I found that, the first method you used was easier for me. Although I used something a fair bit higher so I started off much closer to the balance point. It's all about finding that point - keep it there and you're set. Other than that, it's just keeping at it - it shouldn't take too long... I picked it up in about a week, maybe a bit more?? Good luck with it, and don't get too mad at the bike if you can't do it - it's YOUR fault not IT'S... lol Joke - but really - don't get too stressed over it, it'll come in time [and thankfully not too much of it if you persist] Hope you don't quit 'cause it's not super easy like my friend did... Flipp

From what I know, you got yourself a bargain. To my knowledge, the '04 Python frame had a bash guard capability - they seemd to have dropped that idea. Everything on it seems of a high standard, except - I've been told - the freewheel. From many a person, I've been told that the ACS freewheels are unreliable and kept coming undone. Seeing as this is the welded one I don't know, but if it is bad, it's only another £35 for a tensile and it's a damned good bike in my veiw... (Could make it even better by getting an ENO for £85, but if you're like me and don't have that kinda cash floating around, then tensile's good enough. Heard there's not a whole lot of difference anyway ) Might not even be a problem, but if it is, it's the only one... Nice buy Flipp

OOF! If I hadn't a broken foot, I'd be out and about riding 22f - 18r. It's what I "grew up on" so I like it Flipp

Ah ha! I get it Thanks all who helped. God knows what kind of phsyco-genius thought that up... Relatively easy to understand, but to come up with it...?! Flipp

Surely if it's spinning round on a thread, there'll come a time when you can't roll back/pedal forwards any more? I think I understand the main concept of it, but not much more than that I'm afraid... If it's running on a thread, how come it doesn't hit the end and stop - or hit the other end and fall off? (if it's open on one end) EDIT: OH!!! Just re-read it and I think I understand... Not positive though, so any more detailed explainations wouldn't go amiss (Not saying yours was bad Lardo_69 )
-
Yeah - I know that, but I don't MEAN that lol I mean, how come he doesn't have to pedal during the roll-back?
-
I was just watching a BMX video, and one of the guys rides forwards and stops pedalling. Naturally enough, he carries on going (thanks to the wonder that is the freewheel ), but then he does an endo, he comes back down from it and rolls backwards. You'd expect him to have to pedal backwards or he'd stop, but nooooo... he's special and just rolls without moving his feet atall 1) How?! 2) If he's got 2 freewheels or something funky like that, how does it engage when he pedals? If you're to answer, please don't tell me "I don't know but I know what you're on about" - that leaves me no closer to an answer than where I started. ...But thanks for the thought I'd like to know exactly how it works please Ie, how he can coast both forwards and backwards without pedalling, yet it still engages and moves him forward when he DOES pedal? Thanks a lot if you know... I'm baffled Flipp (I don't need to know I'm just really curious now)
