  1. I've not produced anything in aaaages, but finally got some inspiration last night. God knows where from, I'm just thankfull I did I've never done any dubstep before - I think it's dubstep anyway. Just wondered what you guys would advise doing to make any better/if you like it or not. I know I do Never seem to be happy with anything I've made - but I am with this. Thanks Also - if anyone wants to shed light on how to make longer pieces of music without mindless repetition, please feel free
  2. A whole heap of people think long. I simply can't ride long bikes. I guess I'd adapt - I just find short bikes so much easier to ride... In ALL aspects of riding. TGS, street and rocks. I vote short - but bear in mind most people seem to find longer frames better for it.
  3. Only tried them on other people's bikes, but I always find them really fat. Halfords grips for me - you get four tubes for £5, and each tube gets cut in half to make a pair of grips. Some halfords stock the old ones still, but the Loughborough one has these new ones. They're a bit thicker and harder, but after a few rides they mould to your hands and start to thin down a bit. In my experience, I've found them the comfiest and grippiest, not to mention cheapest On the downside, the old ones rip, if you get them. The new compound seems better for not ripping however.
  4. Nope. I was refering to how you made out that I was saying that I'd told people it doesn't help because I'd ridden brakeless for 10-15 rides, and also that you wrote that I told people not to ride brakeless. I said neither of these things. As I've said, and repeated: I said that my opinion should be taken with a pinch of salt as I hadn't ridden brakeless for very long, and that people should ride brakeless because they want to - not to try and improve their regular riding.
  5. Really? I didn't know it was THAT good! I'm surprised it can hold all that force.
  6. You know damned well that wasn't the part of your post I was refering to. If you didn't... Well then.
  7. I thought you didn't have any... Got bored of it? As for lever angles, I find a little shallower than 45* works best for me. As Rainbird (I think) said - extended finger following the angle of your arm tends to be most comfortable - though a bunch of people I've ridden with have them almost vertical, and seem to get on fine. Ultimately - I guess it's preference. I await Krisboats/Sphyrinx to come and shoot me down and tell me I'm wrong once again.
  8. I said in my experience, it didn't help - though I'd only ridden it 10-15 times - implying that my opinion should be taken with a pinch of salt. Quite the contrary - I said it's good fun and do it if you want, but I wouldn't advise riding brakeless purely to improve your regular riding. Finally - thank you for noticing It's taken a LOT of hard work and perciverance - and although I can see you're trying really hard - it'll be a LONG time before you'll be able to be as effective a moron as me.
  9. They might well just need a new bleed and setting up properly. Any local riders know their way 'round a brake for you?
  10. Every time I've been before, it's always been an 11am meet at Crown Court. Will be there at this time tomorrow - be good to see you lot there
  11. Use anything that's strong enough. Really not a problem what. I've currently got just a few layers of bin-bag, and it's fine.
  12. No. There might be little perks, such as a bit of overall control, and wheel placement as OBM said - but I haven't noticed any massive improvement - though I did only ride a brakeless set ~10-15 times. If you want to ride brakeless - sure - go ahead. It's great fun. (For a while, atIeast - I found.) But I certainly wouldn't advise riding brakeless in an attempt to improve your braked riding.
  13. Does "in that geo" refer to 170 x 30? If yes then consider me very interested. I looked at them - the 165 x 35 - but I think it was the long and not so much rise on the Echo one that made it nice. ...Or am I overestimating what those 5* will do? Consider this option mild interest Also, how much is cheap?
  14. I know the bars and stem make a MASSIVE difference to the ride... I had Monty bars, and an Echo TR stem. (86mm total rise, 10* and 11* - and 170mm x 30*) Bars got creaky, and a hamfisted willy ( :$ ) overtightened the clamp on the stem. Now got Tarty bars (85mm total rise) and need a stem. Money is getting tight, and the only reasonably priced big stem I can find is the Onza master. One on eBay claiming to be 180mm x 40*. (Tarty out of stock, and claim to be 185, too.) It's to be on an Onza Comp Would you reckon this combination is gonna feel just rediculously high? I don't want another TR stem - 2 bolt clamps are a stupid idea. Cheers Edit: Or does anyone know when Tarty'll get the TMS 180x35 stems in?
  15. 5 YEARS?! You used to boast about having ridden 6 before you stopped! At which point were/are you lying?
  16. If you land on it hard, all of the force of your landing is put through those three relatively small areas, into the downtube/chainstays. The smaller the surface area a certain force is spread through, the more pressure it will exert. Edit: Meaning if the mount is on a large gusset which is welded to the downtube, it's less likely to crack than one with a small/no gusset. A frame won't crack just because it has the mounts - but it does dramatically increase the CHANCE of it cracking there.
  17. I reckon you can strip down and re-build your bike in 4 minutes flat with the amount of times you must do it How much have you spent on paint (edit: and nitromors/other strippers) this year?
  18. Very nice indeed - but what do you mean by "bent head tube"?
  19. Ah. Fair enough. Will leave it for another time then
