If your looking at these cranks (click the badger) then yes! Their fine for a beginner. Depending on how good you get, how quickly, you'll probably want some slightly better ones in about a year! I managed to get my old ACS off by hitting one of the four little raised lips anti-clockwise, with a screwdriver and a hammer! (while the crank arm was in a vice) Almost defiantly the wrong way to do it but it worked for me! Cheers EDIT: I've got a freewheel tool i can send you for nothing if you want it? Yeah i'll get the stem before i make it, I've got some spair spacers anyway. Cant use a belt sander at school though - their band now. Health and safty bloke came round in our lesson... Cheekeh slag. I'll probably use a hack-saw, do it rouchly right, then sand it down my hand Cheers Guyths!

Hi Guyths! I'm looking to buy a monty 221 stem (the one with the 'sloping stemcap'). First things first, are they actually any good? Or do people use them because their so cheap? I have Smart Guys ( ) with the internally threaded stirrer tube. Which means I have to use the flat stemcap provided, cos the stirrer isn't wide enough to smack a star nut in to use a normal stemcap (believe me i've tried). So is there any way i could run a Monty 221 stem with my forks? Cheers P.S Just noticed I ran out of space on the topic title, Finished off here - ube)

I think green wouldn't look bad if you did a good job of spraying it etc... But personally I'd spray the frame black and get green parts (rims, cranks...) just because it looks the nuts and not many people have done that colour scheme yet!

You could just go to halfords/a bike shop and ask them for a bike box! They just throw them out when they get new bikes in stock. Worked for me! Cheers

Cheers to everyone who offered but i tried twenty-twelve people and because i've got the skinnier chain (1/8") and everyone else has the fatter one i couldn't find one the right size . So i just gave up and ordered a new one. So now my bank balence is: -£4.20 Cheers

The T-Mag would be good bike to start with (i've got one!) but i doubt it'll go for anything less than about £300. Because at £500 new, and given its only '1.4 months old' that would be a big fat bargain if it went for any less than £300! But saying that, you probably will need a new frame once you get good, because I might have a duff one but its about as strong as a coke can! Cheers

When i was out riding yesterday i snapped my chain . It was getting late anyway so i just went home with the snapped chain cos I just couldn't be bothered to fix it there and then. I just had a look at it and two of the links are completely bent, so need replacing. Is there anywhere i can buy just a couple of links for a KMC kool chain rather than forking out £12 for a whole new one? (i'm slightly skint at the mo) Cheers
