Pretty cool. Nice riding, generally looks like fun!

Sorry to be rubbish at life but I won't be coming. My back is still playing up and it's not really worth coming to just ride for about an hour until it gets bad. I'll wait till next time and then I won't be coming on my own as well. Have a good one

Good stuff! Quality riding and editing
-
Nice lines and mad skills

Great video! More of the cool stuff and less of just side hopping up a wall would be nice but can't complain I guess.

The great thing about backwards riding is you can play it in reverse and it looks like spacky forwards riding. I made this just to see if it would work a couple of summers ago: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...920358398904080 And here's Gilly last Sunday with some backwards hoppage: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...604693460295590

Do it! There are two riders called both Tim on it who blew me absolutely over the hills and far away... plus more good stuff. Anyway that is a most enjoyable collection and when is the next Ben Rowlands 24" video due?

Yeah, I can't find the topic with all the instructions though. I think it's still a sort of protoype version, not very easy to use, and sounds like it's been forgotten about. I had a go at doing my home town http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/wiki/Broadstairs That's the link to what I did but you're right it doesn't come up if you just click Locations in the wiki... Someone did Leicester too I think. As far as I could work out you could only have a picture OR text, not both.

The third one down was my favourite. Just had the best riding in my opinion. Though the one with the blader in was cool too. Is that riding mostly in Deal? Just wondering cos I'm from Broadstairs, didn't recognise anywhere though.

Bit of James on a Curtis in there too I think?
-
I'm not a fan of trailers, or that music, but I'm well up for some more of that riding.

Awesome! I want more of that!!! Somebody buy him a decent front sus bike that can take the pain, and then we can have more TRA megastreet! Or even better somebody buy him a front sus Norco trials bike or something and have a Leech vs TRA showdown!

I consider myself interested. Never ridden Poole before. Should be up for it if the weather's alright and I'm not busy.
-
My first trials bike was a 2003 T-Raptor. It was awesome, a few of the bits broke including the frame after a year or so, but I just bought new bits when that happened. Nearly 4 years on there aren't many bits left come to think of it... a skewer, a maggie, front wheel, stem spacers... that's it I think. Was great value though.

Get yourself something short and tasty in time for the Easter holidays, Clem assures me he's sorting his bike out for then and me and Gilly will be back down... and it's all about shortness and mixed up ness.

It's all so true! I was in a similar situation a year ago when I broke the MAD frame I had... didn't really know what to do. Was tempted by a Base but I had heard they snapped and was sick of the heartache of snapping frames. And there bascially was nothing else out there! In the end I got Iolo to make me one, 1040, 73, 385, +10, bascially cos it was cheaper than a Leeson, and I justified the extra money over a production frame by thinking it was steel so I could just get it welded when it broke. I'm 1 weld in so far! Last I heard he was too busy to do anything frame related though, I had to get a random metalworker to fix mine. The other way to go is buy something old it seems, although old stuff tends to have mega chainstays... my friend Gilly has been buying Giant Team Trials frames to ride (and spares!) whenever he can find them, loves it. Anyway best of luck and trials companies take note! ps Onza Spyrogyra actually doesn't look half bad to me, but you said you're not an Onza fan. Why not out of interest?
-
I've heard people say it is... never ridden one though. Leeson Curtis Base Norco are all new frames you could buy, 26" with seats. And there are still Giants around, or anything old really!
-
I've been using a UN54 for about 6 months with no trouble so far. I'm not a BB snapper though.
-
Yep. I get that, I assumed it's cos my chainring and sprocket are both years old but it doesn't bother me in the slightest, cos the chain never gets loose enough to smack the chainstay or to skip off the cogs, so it's not a problem.

Nice one really enjoyed that. Lots of good riding, cool lines and well put together

Liking the pictures guys they made me laugh! I like the way half of them are of me Here are a few that James (with the Saracen Flea) took on his phone: And a few video clips from the phone as well: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...45&hl=en-GB http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...86&hl=en-GB http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...20&hl=en-GB http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...36&hl=en-GB Sandy balls eh?

I liked that, pretty smooth riding. I'd say there was a bit of a high unknown-man-to-known-man ratio but enjoyable nonetheless. What's the music?
-
Hey I can't come cos I'm in Southampton now but it would be great if you could take some pictures cos I've wondered what that place is like! cheers

You should search cos there are a million tyre pressure topics. I like it hard around 40psi but lots of people like it softer like 20. Soft gives you more grip and a bit of bounce but means you rim out a lot and get punctures and dent your rims. Hard means you can roll faster and spin better and not fear punctures. And personally I hate the squishy feel but that's just me.

My friend Gilly rides on and he loves it, I'll tell him someone was asking. The geometry is roughly: wheelbase 1040mm chainstays 405mm BB height about -5 or -10mm head angle 72 or 73 ish So it's fairly short which makes it good for a beginner. The chainstays are longer than most trials bikes, that has advantages and disadvantages so it's personal preference really. Same for the low bottom bracket. That will make it feel more like a normal mountain bike and be good to pull up into a manual, most new skool trials bikes have it higher though. Visually they look great and you get somewhere to sit... bit of a no-brainer really!
