Another vote for 'go for it'. (I feel a little odd voting for your love life but there we are) If you don't, you might find yourself wondering a few years down the line 'So where's this girl that I'm going to settle down and spent the rest of my days with...' and it might have been her. You can't tell yet but it has to be worth a try.

So, I snapped my frame today. Any chance of a quote for a 26" frame along these lines, as in price and how long it would take? Thanks

My [older and not particularly musical] sister learning Silent Night on my guitar. Well you did ask.

I was literally seconds away from a re-post but the search saved me! What an awesome video. I just love the idea of riding non-stop through a city like that! I wanna go...

His videos a few years ago were the first I ever saw of trials (Can't Stop the Rock if I remember...), he seems to have changed a bit now. I see what someone meant about the TRAishness, although to be honest I'd probably rather watch TRA himself, it's pretty similar just he bounces higher!

www.myspace.com/wearecarnivores I'm not too hot on my genre names but it's probably hardcore? I think the 2 songs on their profile are pretty good.

was just about to ask how come you're on trials forum lol umm all I can think of that would stop it working so suddenly like that is a dodgy connection somewhere? car journey home might work something loose. If you haven't already, then wiggle all the power wires, makes sure they're in tightly, or if they're screwy in ones then make sure they're properly screwed in. If that doesn't do it then it might be something loose inside the tower that needs properly pushing into the motherboard? You could have a look inside if you're feeling brave, I think you're meant to touch a radiator or something big and metal to make sure that you aren't statically charged first or something... good luck

Helmet are definately a good idea but yet I still don't wear mine very often. I'm not particularly proud of this. I do if I'm riding dirt or skatepark, but not very often for trials, unless I'm trying something intimidating or high-speed. I know it's still possible to hit your head just doing simple trials stuff, but to me it's not quite that one-sided. There are times when wearing a helmet will save you, and times when it won't. Helmets don't make you invincible. You could argue that the extra confidence of a helmet can make you attempt something dangerous and get you hurt. But equally it's better to be wearing one if things do go wrong. It just comes down to whether you personally think it's worth the inconvenience/discomfort/looking silly/extra heat or whatever it is you find annoying about wearing one. I've fallen off hundreds of times and not managed to hit my head yet. I know it's still possible but I just don't feel compelled to wear my helmet all the time. I think my reason for this is based on the fact that life is full of risks and dangers anyway and you can't ever hope to eliminate them all, but it's not something I really think about very deeply. On the other hand I wear my shin/knee pads every time I ride, because I've had a few really nasty pedal gouges that stopped me riding for a few weeks, and my pads seem to save me every few weeks. I'm just being honest here. I hope nobody rides without their helmet and gets hurt because they read this...

Yep, I do, but I don't have one. I just want one. I think they look nice, and you can have various customisations with geometry, mounts etc etc so you have the frame exactly how you want. You could try specifying which particular Leeson you're thinking of so that people that actually have them can reply...

Good idea. Is there any chance you could make a secondary county or something like that, for all the people who are at uni so that you can put your county in term time and holidays both down?

Trials shoes = anything that you've been wearing long enough that most of the tread is worn off the bottom and you can actually feel the pedals with your feet. I guess in a way it's encouraging that the sport is producing its own footwear now... but it seems a bit silly to me, you can take it too far.

Anyone Here Do Weights To Increase Performance?
Tommy d replied to John planet x's topic in Trials Chat
Sounds like steroids mess you up pretty badly. No thanks. I saw someone's post saying that as part of their training they go to the gym and use an exercise bike. Does that not seem just a little ironic to anyone? A bike rider, going to ride a pretend bike to make them more able to ride bikes? This is all so alien to me. I don't do fitness training to make me ride better, I ride to make me ride better. And because I enjoy riding! Far more than I would enjoy training my body to supposedly perform better, with the added bonus of yucky bodybuilder veins. Or is that just me? -
All this stuff. Good time with good friends. Satisfaction when you do something well. The infinite variety. The pure enjoyment of riding taking everything else off your mind.

That was good, it kind of carried the feel of just some fun riding and good spots. Not so sure about the white outlined effect though...

Thanks for the help so far. I have a couple of options here, and I've also spotted this stem, any comments on it? DMR Con-Rod 75mm 7º http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=850 I mention it mainly because it's £18...

I'm getting new bars and stem for Christmas. The bars are going to be Easton EA50 2" rise. However I know nowt about what stems are out there. I'm after something short. My current stem is around 60/70mm and that's fine; I wouldn't want anything much longer. A bit of rise wouldn't go amiss but I'm not too fussed. The bars come in either 25.4mm or 31.8mm clamp size so I could go either way with the stem. Basically I have very little idea of what's available so fill me in please! Preferably cheaper than a £55 hope... Thanks

The riding style isn't really my thing, but the editing was fine. The style of editing, riding and the music seemed to go well together in my opinion even though I would have done it differently myself.

I think someone who has lots of videos and lots of time should upload all the legendary (copyright-free) videos that the younger generations (i.e. me) haven't seen, then make it a 'TF Greatest Hits' sticky in the video section. Go on...

What Bike Bits Are You Treating Yourself To This Christmas?
Tommy d replied to TomR's topic in Trials Chat
Some Easton bars, my old Onza T-Raptor ones are too long, too old, and frankly, too bendy. Of course I'll be needing a new stem too -
I think I had some valid points to raise in view of this complicated debate about trials, but the topic is so long that I have entirely forgotten what I wanted to say. And half an hour of my life just vanished... umm... I've read a few posts saying how its such a shame that the old skool stuff is dying out or whatever... no it isn't! Just find the right people to ride with! I've read a few posts saying how bad TF is for all the arguments, and for how people get too lost in the politics rather than just riding... no it isn't! It's an amazing resource for meeting up with people, sharing videos, getting bike advice and more, whatever your style of riding/philosophy of trials. You can quite easily read just the bits you're after. (Not sure how I ended up spending my evening on this topic.) In fact, just the existence of bikes in all their forms and the abilty of humans to ride them so well is quite amazing. Just enjoy it. I think that was something like what I was going to say? EDIT: Just to emphasise how ridiculously long and complicated this topic is (or how dozy I am), I spent nearly the whole time thinking that Danny Holroyd was Chris Akrigg... (I think they're both brilliant)

Just had a thought, why not put this in the FAQ?

Softer tyres will give you more grip, but make it easier to get punctures and your bike won't roll very well. They can make the bike feel a bit bouncy as well, as if there was suspension. I don't like that but some say it lets you bounce yourself further for bigger gaps etc. Harder tyres will have less grip, although it's not likely to matter unless you ride in the wet or on shiny stuff. Harder tyres will make it easier to spin round on the back wheel, and the bike will roll better, and not feel squishy. Softer tyres wear out quicker. I like about 40psi but everyone's different. EDIT: lol at previous post

I'd go for 2nd hand square taper Burns if you can. Read this thread for the ST vs ISIS debate... http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....60&hl=taper

Not a bad slice of trials. Cool wall thing at 2'51". Interesting the way he jumps off his bike after every trick...

My V8s are a couple of years old now and have served me very well. Recommended.
