Seems it might be tricky to pull off from what people are saying but I'll answer the questions anyway. Yep I'd come about 3 times a year for the next couple of years I reckon (while I'm at Southampton uni anyway), more if the winter was really windy/wet. EDIT: X2 since I'd bring my friendly neighbourhood trials buddy along too. Entry fee could be at least £5 since the train fair would be a bit more than that anyway so no point shaving off a couple of quid. Might attend a competition just for laughs but I'm not too into comp. Having comps every few months might be the best way to attract lots of people? Obviously it makes sense to have it where you live not in Birmingham, you can't make one single park cater for the whole country, just make sure its near the station, has parking etc, like you said. Although being a student I could come during the week, I agree it might be wisest to just open it weekends and the odd evening. You would ideally need to find some other way of using the building during the week though so you're not wasting your money on the presmises. No idea what though. Find some way of renting it out for business functions/training days or something? Don't ask me how since it will be full of trials fodder but use your imagination I guess...

First trials bike (Onza T-Raptop - the green machine) for 16th birthday, nearly 3 years ago. Spent the year or so before that doing little jumps and rock walks on my rubbish full sus before realising that you couldn't really do trials on it...
-
voted/bumped. I live nowhere near but the more of these start springing up everywhere the better. If it ever happens...

Well I'm pretty sure I should have a bike by the 15th of March... Am I right in assuming that you have to choose one curb somewhere and make your video on that? Or can you hit all the local curbage?
-
aahhhhh all hope of winning destroyed... That would be a great video anyway even it wasn't in a curb comp! Still have to enter of course as long as it's not for a while and I have a bike... p.s. it must be curb not kerb, because Curb Competition gets alliteration points

One negative point for discs: landing on and breaking rotors! Annoying, and can make you hold yourself back.
-
Surely it already is recognised as a sport, in competition format. It's just that they can't really condone street riding because of the possibility of damaging property (unintentionally I know).

Hold on hold on... 10 inches?! That's a pretty big curb! To me the word curb says like 3 inches, maybe 6 max? Might as well just call it a ledge competition otherwise... And, can we not delay it like someone originally said? Have a month for the entries, but later on in the year. My reasons: It will be warmer, dryer, lighter (less snowbound for those in cold countries!)It would be a bit fairer to hold it in the Easter or Summer school holidaysMy frame won't be ready for a few weeks yet...EDIT: p.s. also: Allow more time for people to become aware of it who don't check the forum every day, and make sure everyone agrees on the rules.I wonder if some admin/senior/mod people should organise it? Make it a bit official? Just a thought...

If it still messes you about it might be worth getting some actual audio recording/multitracking software, with proper level meters n stuff. You might be able to find some freeware on t'internet. Cubase is pretty good, but difficult to learn how to use.

I don't usually find that, although if their bike is more back/front heavy that feels odd. Seems like I have this phenomenon to look forward to though, about to go from alu to steel frame and teeny trials seat to proper seat

Lol! I think by definition turquiose isn't green OR blue. I haven't voted (that took some effort, I don't know why I had some strange compulsion to!) but if I had to it would be blue.

I used to listen to R1 quite a bit but haven't for ages now, ever since having my laptop (i.e. lots and lots of music) hooked up to stereo on my room. It is kinda crazy that Chris Moyles can do that to the chart, but it just teaches you not to pay attention to the chart in my opinion. Not that most intelligent people seem to anyway. Ditto Tom_Leeson, it is often quite funny/entertaining but the more I heard him the more he seemed like an idiot. Same with some other DJs too (not all). Plus so much awful music gets on the radio.

Obligatory pint-in-hand shot.

I'm jealous I want snow... I was imagining if it snowed here at my halls of residence there would be the biggest snowball fight EVER outside!

I'm afraid I know nowt about comps but you might get some more helpful replies if you gave the topic a more useful title? e.g. Can You Help Me? comp info needed probably wouldn't be too much effort

Whilst a bike like that will hold you back for some aspects of trials, I wouldn't say they're necessarily bad because what you lose in one area of riding you will gain in another area, so if that kind of bike appeals to you and suits how you like to ride then there's nothing wrong with it. p.s. I agree, it would help to break up the text a bit in your post...

Hmm I don't have an MBUK to read but I do like those 2 indoor videos, might have to see what I can do in my halls of residence as soon as I have a bike...

Really enjoyed that, liked the song. Riding and editing were fine too. The only angle I can think of that I wasn't sure about was near the start about 24" where the camera stays low for ages, I feel like I want to see the top of the ledge (no idea why!). Good stuff anyway.
-
Nice, that was quite enjoyable. Gorrillaz song is 5/4. Good, err, bum poking section.

Well, I can give you my answer, although I can't say how much use it will be to you. Whatever goes in your video, make sure it's not the ONLY thing that goes in it. The thing that most bores me in trials videos sometimes is seeing someone do the same move over and over again in different places. So use all your creativity and get some variety in. And if you can work some out, longer lines/combos are much better to watch than single moves. I think what people have said about doing whatever you enjoy most is also true, so just have fun and film it! Also (getting a bit philosophical) it might help to take a step back and think about why you're making the video. Is it for you to be proud of, give you a record of your achievements, for others to enjoy, inspire or just entertain your mates etc. Then it might be easier to decide what to put in it. Sorry if I just floated away on a fluffy cloud of trials ideaology.

The world begins to see light... Yeah come on everyone! EDIT: What actually is a modstock/26"mod? I've seen this a couple of times on the forum and it looks like something about hubs, but why do they do it?
-
I think everyone in the world should have their brakes the same way round as me (front=right and back=left) so that I can ride their bike without having to rewire my whole brain
-
I'm sure I found some really cool trials pictures on Trashzen somewhere but I can't seem to find them on the site now... Some of them were really cool ones that someone had drawn not just photos. Anyone know how to find them?

Why is this? I don't get it, can someone explain?
