  1. Yes yes yes that was awesome! I think I need to go and watch that a few more times! He had me cheering him on from behind my laptop every time he did something cool (which was often), which on reflection probably makes me a bit of a wierdo... Just what I needed though, hope he makes more.
  2. Or just hop less... That said I doubt I could ride that well after 6 months. Not a bad video I guess. Maybe had a bit too much titles at the start and the end and could have used some longer lines in the riding.
  3. I have to say... very repetitive riding and it says stock under your name so I was disappointed! Although I did manage to stay interested mainly because some of it looked pretty dangerous. What music is that?
  4. I think the most accurate thing I've used to measure stuff is my head height... don't really like the tape measure philosophy, it's not about numbers. Surely if it was, everything would just be easier for tall people? I'm more interested in how stuff feels really, not about the actual size of what I'm doing.
  5. No. If you can't afford stuff, don't buy it. New riders can get bikes off here/Ebay. If you get in debt for a new bike, you'll be screwed when you need to replace bits and you're still in debt... And I don't like 0% finance either, it just means that you pay the extra regardless of whether you go for the installments.
  6. I really liked that! Nice vibe, smooth riding, interesting lines, 4' 26" caused me to exhale involuntarily with pleasure. In fact I just realised it's quite a long video and I was hooked right through so good work! What bike are you riding? To me it looked like about 22" wheels or something crazy! I'm guessing that's not the case though? Anyway I'm just off to treat myself to the download. EDIT: Ok on the good quality version I can read the word Megamo, mystery solved.
  7. Haha I love your Nollie sidehop (I have no idea what to call that... the thing from the front wheel) thing near the end! Made me laugh out loud for some reason.
  8. Go for it is all I can say! Spotted this earlier on Ebay, Ashton ET http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Martin-Ashton-Trials...1QQcmdZViewItem But Base or Alibongo or whatever should do the job. Have fun!
  9. Yeah! That one has it for me. I might have a go tomorrow...
  10. Nice video, some cool riding and amazing bails in there!
  11. I really liked number 2, but why does it just stop?
  12. Haha that's a brilliant move! What do you mean you don't have a vid on the go?!
  13. I love the way you avoided the CURB/KERB controversy by spelling it completely wrong as 'cerb'... It's CURB by the way I say the best video was Jonny Jones, for great riding and editing BUT... what happened to the 2-minute rule?! Smells like a disqualification to me! p.s. for some reason I really love the riding next to the curb and just popping the front wheel up onto it as you go past, that's been shamelessly nicked for my own riding So for me it was between Gilly and Inur but I voted Inur cos I didn't film that - it was more fresh to my eyes.
  14. I find it helps to get really far over the front. Like as if you're actually gonna fall over the front, but because you're turning, by the time you get there you're falling back down again (if that makes sense). To spin less than 180 you have to first overbalance to the side you want to spin, which I guess you can already do. If you want 180 exactly you have to start the endo when you're perfectly balanced (as in side to side) but with the same motion that you would use if you were going less than 180. If you want to spin more than 180, you have to be overbalanced to the wrong side before you spin. That feels kinda scary cos for a moment you are actually going over the front but the fact that you're spinning sorts that out. Hope that made some sense...
  15. It seems like a complicated issue to me, upsides and downsides. My opinion changes every time I think about it so I won't bother... Just think though, if more people start we'll be the cool ones cos we started sooner EDIT: Thinking about it, it seems like trials ought to gradually grow as its profile raises until roughly the point where most people are aware of the sport in some vague way. At the moment there must be people who would like trials but have never heard of it.
  16. Haha s'all about the one-click satisfaction! Nah kidding good video! Made me laugh in a few places. Makes me wonder if everyone else watches it through again scanning the background to find a shot of themself... I did
  17. Yeah I had a great day, cheers everyone. And bigger thanks to Jon for organising and directing me and gilly, and also to the miraculous weather! I managed to only get soaked on the way there and back - lovely dry ride! Now I am truly cream crackered. My first trip to Portsmouth, seems like an awesome place to ride. And the atmosphere and all the people there made it cooooool. Although I still don't know who most people are... I was the one with the yellow lid and black Iolo.
  18. Seems to me it would be pretty unlikely that everyone coming is free again the next week... but then maybe people who can't come this week would be able to... I say stick with this one. I'll still come if it's damp and drizzly, if its a horrendous storm I might not. Think about the week after if Sunday comes and it was a complete wash out?
  19. Haha I guess the tape measure at the start should be been a hint! Not really my kind of riding I'm afraid. I guess the actual video wasn't bad though, apart from the round camera thing which I'm not a fan of.

    New Vid Of Me

Not bad riding, but I reckon you could make a better video. Get some longer lines in there, the most exciting thing in that was the gap between 2 picnic tables... which isn't terribly exciting! Think about cutting out the sound of the wind too?
  21. Me (jack/harmertrials) Mat (scopse) Ricky (RickyColeman) Darren (Orgun Donor) Rich (Karsonlevoret) Jon Ben Cox Hendrixmaster John Kan (J-KAY) Chris Elson (chris121) Dan Brooker AndyB drumhitter paul oliver george seamons Simon Lee Brendan Gary Scott Grant joe harper (smelly joe) Tommy d (arriving late) I won't be able to get there until like half 2 so I'll have to give you a call as well Ash. You won't be miles and miles from the station will you? Does anybody else fancy giving me their phone number in case I can't get Kennard? Don't want to be lost in a strange city...
  22. Don't ask me about boosters... but always have your cranks tight! If you ride them when they're loose they get damaged and you have to buy new cranks Happened to me when I got my first bike. If you ride them loose the tapers go out of shape and then they'll never do up properly tight. Especially with square taper. I think the only way you can have them too tight is if you strip the threads on the bolt!
  23. Anyone fancy going again in a couple of weeks? I've never been but I can't really do this weekend either...
