  1. Just had a quick look through Leicester and found some of the ones with images, and realised how amazing the internet is. Now I need to add the trials riding mecca that is Broadstairs but sleep is more important... I'll be back though!
  2. Sorry, the one thing I do not have is disks. We operate a strictly rim brake only policy I'm afraid. (Joke) Nah sorry don't have any to sell. Just vees and maggies. Don't worry the forecast for tomorrow is terrible. And yes indeed I am up for Saturday onwards. Those places sound far away... are there train stations near them?
  3. My favourite are Ritchey WCS foam. They don't last forever but I don't like rubber cos it gets too slippery without gloves.
  4. Yeah HS33s are great. They take a few minutes of effort to set up well but it's not too hard and worth it. Make sure you do it properly. They don't need a lot of maintenance. I've been pretty lucky with mine, in the last 3 years I've done nothing to them except swap them over to my new frame(s). That's not to say that Vs and discs can't be at least as good though. A good V is just as good as a maggie (as opposed to a rubbish V). Personally I don't like discs because I bash the rotors but the general concensus is that they're great especially on the front. If you search there are loads of topics along the lines of: Q) which type of brake is better? A) They can all be great.
  5. Cool. For tomorrow (Thursday) I will probably be ready to ride at like 1 or 2pm. Got stuff to do in the morning. Fat Pants I shall PM you my mobile number (and anyone else who wants it). A good place for someone to find in a car is probably Ramsgate harbour, and just stop anywhere on the sea front. There's riding all along the sea front at the top and bottom of the cliff. Often we meet at the four rectangular wooden benches which is a stone's throw from the harbour. Just phone someone if you're having trouble finding stuff. But like I said I probably won't be out till early afternoon so maybe someone else if youse lot are going earlier. And if it's pouring with rain, likewise I think not. Showers ok. I should be able to do Folkestone on Friday as well, haven't ridden there for a long long time. Don't think Gilly can come though, he's got work and stuff. He might be out Sunday though, who knows... Oh, and most importantly, I have LOTS of bike parts to sell. I've just taken Ali's bike apart and it's all gotta go. So if anyone wants anything, ask away and I'll bring it. Levelboss frame, lots of maggies, some SD7s, 26" wheels, EA70s, Ashton forks, skewers, square taper BB, V12 pedals... etc etc etc
  6. Absolute quality! That looked so fun. The urge to ride is strong now!
  7. As in this Thursday as in tomorrow? I'd be up for riding in the afternoon methinks. Although have you seen the weather forecast... Are you still gonna be riding if it's wet? Might get away with it as it never rains round here (A) So where do we reckon? I've never ridden Canterbury, although I heard rumours long ago that that's because there's nothing to ride there. I'd be interested to find out though, might need a guide. Is this Jack a Canterbury person? Never ridden Whitstable either but I'm up for that, Herne Bay is quite good, so's Ramsgate (lots of sub-1 foot stuff there ). Yes, yes it was. By the way if transport does become a problem, Ramsgate is easy on the train from Canterbury.
  8. When you say size are you talking about wheelbase? There are quite a few factors involved in the shape of a trials frame. For example: wheelbase bottom bracket height chainstay length head angle It's a bit complicated... Generally short wheelbase (e.g. 1040mm) would be an advantage for things like spins and manuals, whereas long wheelbase (e.g. 1100mm) would be an advantage for getting up high things, doing big gaps etc. Or somewhere in between. Do some research.
  9. Well, my advice would be don't rush into it. Maybe not very helpful. Why 3 days?
  10. I do like the idea, but definitely one for the wikiwhat do we do when spots disappear/changeand don't let the police find our maps!Maybe I prefer the idea of actually meeting up with the local riders?
  11. Exactly, kind of makes you feel better that your unwanted stuff might be some use to somebody else.
  12. Thankyou for the advice so far. Looks like Control or Pashley would be good options. Does anyone know if the Pashley ones just come in blue? £50 is a rather attractive idea... Anybody know which of the two would be stronger? And lighter?
  13. Ok, my elderly MAD forks are in the process of cracking and dying so I shall need some new ones. I don't really know anything about forks so I'd appreciate some info. Is there much difference between steel and aluminium forks? I've got a steel frame if that's relevant. Is there much variation in length/height of forks? Does this matter? What's all this about stiffness, is that important? Basically I'll be after some strong forks that will last, with V mounts, and it would be nice if they were light as well. What do I want?

Granted those bunny hops are pretty amazing! Wasn't sure about the editing at the start though.
  15. Pretty cool video I thought. I still can never get my head round the post box thing...
  16. I would not be a happy bunny if my blood started squirting everywhere! Hope it heals quickly.
  17. Ah here's the real thread... awesome riding, please do the real Steve-A6!
  18. Legend! For many moons I had hoped there might one day be a Steve_A 6! Awesome riding, especially 38" Cheers for posting Rich (and John)
  19. You wanna give us any more clues on what kind of frame/what kind of riding you're after? It's a bit vague otherwise... Base TA26 is very cheap on Tartybikes if you're up for something short.
  20. I'd say your brake is a bit violent on the ears, sounds like it's ripping the air to shreds every time! Not bad riding though and I liked the tune.
  21. That was absolutely brilliant! So many great riders in there and so much great riding. I've never come across this Street character before but I loved his section... and the other sections come to think of it. Nice juicy bails too, quality production
  22. I'll come if the weather's good and it's on the train line and I'm free and I remember to check the thread... pretty much guaranteed basically
