  1. Haha I like that, just because the same set of pads have stayed on my maggies since I got them over 3 years ago... red kool stops It's all appreciated though, thanks everyone and keep them coming.
  2. I'm changing to a front V soon and wondering about pads. What would you recommend for a smooth rim, no tar? I'm more after dry weather cos my tyres won't grip in the wet anyay My criteria are good modulation and hold that I can trust, ideally quiet. Modulation > mega sharp bite. If you are knowledgeable of these things your advice would be appreciated. EDIT: While we're here I have another front-vee-related question: I was going to get an Odyssey Linear Slick cable as they seem to be recomended all over the place, but presumably it will be really long for a front brake and I haven't seen a front version. Is it alright to cut them down shorter? I wasn't planning on doing any barspins in the near future so presumably I don't want it mega long?
  3. Rim, otherwise I land on the rotors and they are not happy rotors after that...
  4. I'm listening to the first one you posted and I'm curious... What exactly is it that you do? Like what do you start with and what do you do with it? And what do you use to do it? Don't worry about going into too much detail as it will most likely go over my head! I know about music but not about mixing. And also what name would this genre be given?
  5. If you have a high frame then it ends up a slightly funny shape so that there's room for the booster, probably wouldn't be an issue if you went for something mega-low though. (but then they don't deserve to be called seat stays any more) You also get the interesting side-effect that the brake only squeaks when you go backwards! Mine does anyway. S'all good. I did it cos I'll get a V at some point.
  6. Here it is yo. http://tv.isg.si/site/filebrowser/tommydthatsme/ ell_lezzer.mpg While you're there you may as well take a look at the Easter one (or Wessex Lane, more light hearted as it was our uni halls...) a little shameless video plug never goes amiss Enjoy
  7. I have. Quality video! When I first saw it, pretty much my latest learnt trick was a 450 spin like he does in it, so I thought it was AMAZING! Anyways I shall upload it soon as I can. Oh and seeing someone manualling on a trials bike made me just a little bit jealous!
  8. The crack in my forks is getting pretty long and my wrist that I sprained a while ago needs a rest, so I'm taking it easy for a bit... If you go to Whitstable take some pics/videos so I can see if it looks fun to ride!
  9. We were having far too much fun to resort to that!
  10. Got hold of some of that recently, good for giving me energy before a ride!
  11. Nice and smooooth. Like the idea too. Reminds me very much of riding in my garden! Even though I don't have pallets. It's that special atmosphere I guess...
  12. Seats for sho'. And fun geometry as opposed to pushing-your-limit-in-inches geometry.
  13. Take a day off after every 2 or 3 days and just enjoy the mountains?
  14. None of them are coming up... just a little red X
  15. Had a fun ride today in Herne Bay and took a few pictures which came out quite well. They're not on a fancy camera or anything, just a digital one. See what you think! The first 3 are of me, last 2 are Gilly. Up Down. You have to work out which way I'm spinning! This one's mainly for the facial expression! X-up (Gilly) Down again
  16. Just watched the first one and it was pretty cool! I'll get to the rest in a bit
  17. What a legend! I prefer his other video, but still.

    Excellent! So where's the footage?
  19. So is the concensus that an SD7 lever (a new one) is pretty good? I might be heading veeward soon...
  20. stick stick stick stick stick stick stick stick stick stick I expect you get the message. Burns are really good cranks. It seems mad to change! Save the money for when something breaks or you will feel a fool when it does...
  21. Are blue pallets special? Mine is a good 16" I would say. Been riding 3 and a bit years. Side hops aren't really my thing! That's to either side mind edit: ooh ooh been developing my brakeless sidehops too. Probably only about a foot so far...
  22. I'll bring chocolate. I work for a chocolate fountain company you know.
  23. Come anyway foo'! We'll show you the true meaning of Herne Bay. (whatever that means) I heard a rumour Jason might grace us with his presence. Who can say.
  24. Gilly and I have decided to ride Herne Bay tomorrow during the day. We'll be arriving at the clock tower on the sea front about half 11. Come and join in the fun!
