Its standard in the sense that its not single speed but it does have a steel drive shell and HD axle with a Ti lock ring for a spot of bling. Its a fully black drivetrain too which I'm liking.

This build has taken some time, never mind the time it’s taken me to get on the Hex bandwagon! I had to go with the Kings on Inspired rims. You can keep your 600 odd engagements and carbon rims 😋 went for carbon 170mm cranks and an Ali Express bash which comes in 3 bolt with a narrow wide chainring! Not that narrow wide rings are required in trials but I’d take it over not having it. The rear brake is a shimano XT and there’s a Zee on the front, both run with red EBC pads. The shimano 4 pot brakes with these pads and 203mm icetech rotors, I find to be just the ticket. Bars are Inspired and are clamped in place with a Thomson 80x10 stem with 20mm of spacers ontop of the humungous headset. Grips are push on ODI Longnecks. Rear tyre is an old 2.4 Maxxis holy roller and the front is a newer 2.35 Ikon. Ive not put it on the scales yet but it feels decent. 😎 Fire away with any comments or questions!

Go for those Halo bolt up QRs to keep it tidy. I don't mind a QR lever now and then but it could look super clean with those dropouts and no lever.👌

Nice work. Would be even neater with a link or two out the chain if at all possible. A smaller jockey wheel might help achieve that?

I've always had the same issue with caged pedals, small platforms with concave shape, large outer area pedals with "thin/spindly" platform part so the gaps between the axle and the cage are larger; pedals where the material around the axle is higher than the cage, all seem to hurt my feet eventually. Try a set of DMR V12s. These seem to be really comfortable and a best of all worlds if you get the lighter Mag versions.

I've attended in person & watched on TV this style of trials comp and can categorically state that watching it on the TV is 100% better than being there in person in terms of being able to see what's going on. People who say they cant see anything on the TV - hahaha. Try being 5'8" and being 4 deep in sweaty Europeans. Was that a 5? Dunno mate... Granted there is still some dodgy Eurotrash angles going on...Maybe Rusewho could do a better job?

A TrialTech with 130mm length and 25degree rise I think it is, with 5mm of stem spacer underneath and a set of what is essentially TrialTech "highrise" bars but are labelled up as Inspired bars. That's with a set of TrialTech sport lite forks, I mention this as the rake and height from front axle to crown makes a difference to the set up of my bar and stem...Just to throw another curve ball

Cant really go wrong with the quality of Inspired frames. Well thought out and executed design and builds. You'll be good with that version Only thing I'd say with the more modern Inspired frames is that they went down, for better or worse, more of a BMXy geo route which may or may not suit you.
