Brake Boosters For Magura Direct Mounts
bob87 replied to old_boy_rider's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I kind of understand what your talking about but i've never seen this before, would you be able to post a picture up? -
American classic hubs are rubbish, i had a back one and destroyed it in a month. Hope make 28 hole hubs. Both the xc and the pro2 hubs do and they don't cost a bomb neither. Check www.hope-tech.co.uk

So as long as i run the chain with enough tension theres no chance of it slipping off?
-
Sorry man, but I've never seen a free wheel on a front wheel.
-
Yeah i already run a single speed cog, a single cog out of my cassette. I have a couple of Gusset cogs sitting here but running a fatter cog at rear and a standard chain-ring at the front means that it would still want to jump off at the front.
-
Well the XTR has done me proud. I would concider running a Bmx chain but even if i put spacers in between the chainring the chain is still going to be to wide running on a Middleburn chainring and a Shimano HG sprocket, both being made for use with a 3/32 chain. Will it not just move from side to side and eventualy run off at the back or the front?

Definately get an older one. My Leeson came with a 2005 one the front and i hate. Power wise there is no difference but the levers are annoying. The lever sits to far back so it cramps my finger because i have to hold it in a different position. It's ajusted as far out as it goes and it still sits about 20mm away from where i normally hold it. Just get an older one.
-
Thanks for that. It was just a possibility that someone might have made one. I don't want to run a Bmx one because i tried it on my Dmr before and it rubbed like hell. I'll take your advice and just buy a single half link, I'm running an XTR chain so it'd be a bit of a waste buying a whole new chain. Thanks
-
Yeah all the stuff is there. Easy as pie to fit, should only take 15-20 mins to set up. Probably the best brake i ever rode with. Definately buy it.
-
Hi was wondering if any company out there actually makes a 3/32 half link chain, not just the single link but the whole chain. I've checked the search on the forum and it's just stuff about either the Bmx half link chains or the single links. Tried google as-well and it just comes up with the same thing. Thanks

Not to sure if you are up for sticking a 4 pot brake on a trials bike but go and check out www.the-cleg.com Got to be the sickest brakes I've seen anywhere. Brembo are also bringing out a brake for mountain bikes.

From the album: Leeson
My new Leeson ( thanks ghosts_cloak) -
Fight, fight , fight, fight, fight. You must admit Scotty you have only had the frame for a month so posting this up was pointless. Don't really see the point in getting a double disk frame when your Echo ride very nice and that's coming from a big wheels rider. Hahahahahaha.
-
Your both wrong, i forgot to put at the start of this post that the colour it is now is BLUE. Peferably i would like a black one but if no one else does them then a new Middleburn it will have to be.
-
sorry for the long winded response, but I hate when people go off at one person, when it's a company that's at fault.

Whats the web address for fresh products?

Exactly what i said to the D**k on the end of the phone. I could have gone down on the train and still have arrived back in the time it took them to get it here. It arrived in Inverness this morning and when i went down to collect it the woman said i hadn't paid for 12am delivery, instead it was 24 hour. I DONT THINK SO!! I'd printed off a copy of the trace i did on their website and it CLEARLY states at the top of the page: Next day 12am. EAT THAT YOU F***ING COW. She thought i was an idiot and got dealt with! I also told her that even if i had paid for 24 hour delivery the bike still wouldn't have been here on time. By my calculation it took 43 hours roughly. So Parcel Force can F**K off if they think this is acceptable. Fair enough the bike is here now but that isn't the point, i paid for a service and they didn't perform. WHERES THE F***ING MANAGER? COMPLAINT AND REFUND NOW!!!
-
Yeah i know, the bike is black but the stickers are silver.
-
Yeah machining it down is actual sounding good. I could do this then strip the anodising of to leave it silver. Whats the stuff used to take anodising off, i forgot the name of it?
-
Yeah but it's mashed up to F**k so a new one is in order. As for the ti bash-guard i run a 20 tooth at the front and these only come in 16 tooth i think. Thanks anyway.
-
Just got my Leeson today (thanks ghosts-cloak). The whole bike is pretty much black bar the headset and the bash-guard. I was wondering if anybody knew who makes aftermarket bash-guards for Middleburns? I know that Leeson themselves make one but i just wanted to see if there are any other companies out there.

Its not a 26" stock frame it's a 24" frame. You can get 26" versions not much diffrent to this. Price wise the frames are Be-spoke meaning that you can get it built to your own specifications. Price for a standard build Leeson is £400 frame only. Go onto the Leeson homepage: www.leesonbikes.co.uk and you'll see everything you need to know.

If all else fails and you cant afford to get new forks any time soon. Speak to one of your local welder/fabricators. They should be able to weld a new piece to the top of the steerer so that they fit perfectly.
-
Yeah it was me that bought it off him. The reason for it not arriving is that they say it is impossible for them to deliver it to Inverness in 24 hours. Read my post in the Angry Thread and tell me what you think of what they told me.
