  1. It depends on the sort of build you are looking for?
  2. Ceramic or Plasmatic rims will give you the most brake bite with out a grind. I ride a D521 with monty pads on a grind. Perfect.
  3. Hey buddy you should totally come to inverness. There's some decent street riding and rocks. Haven't ridden Arbroath before but I'm sure we can take a trip through there. Send me an E-mail if you've any questions.
  4. I already said at the start of this post that i wanted the frame built around a 150mm wide hub not 135mm. As for the hubs that i've named, these are all suitable trials hubs, nobody ever said it has to be a Hope hub. Dont realy know why your complaining about me wanting to do something original with my frame choice, start thinking outside the box. I'm going to be using this frame for street and saying using a 12mm through axel is overkill is a bit extreme, most 26 inch trials frames flex quite a lot at the rear end and usualy snap on the chainstays. Not trying to say Leesons are week, i'm just trying to safeguard my frame and do something original.
  5. Not realy limiting my choices of hubs, there are tons of companys that make 12mm through hubs. Gusset, Hadley, Chris King, Ringle, DT swiss, Atom Lab, Hope and Burgtec aswell as many others, so not limiting my choice, just expanding it. As for selling the frame. If i actualy get this frame built for me theres no chance in hell i'll sell it because Leeson frames are a work of art. If however i was to sell the frame i'd sell it as a frame kit including the hub and anything else needed to run this type of hub.
  6. Checked the Surly single speed hubs out, not really the sort of thing I'm looking for though. These are only suitable for standard dropouts(horizontal or vertical 1mm). where as for the frame i want made i would need a hub that has a 12mm axle that slots through the frame and the hub at the same time(like 20mm through axle forks).
  7. Does his son still use this frame? Were there any problems with the frame? This is good news, maybe i might be able to get this built after all. Are you in direct contact with Clive himself?
  8. I hope so, not much of the frame has to be changed to accomadate this type of axle. The only pboblem i can see with building the frame is that it will be quite hard to work out the angle to run the chainstays at. The axle is actualy 15mm wider than a standard hub so there might be difficulty there. I'll phone him anyway and see what he says. Has anybody had this done to trials frame before?
  9. Yes, the 360 dropout design is superb. Probably the most original design on a frame that i've seen. Some of my friends ride downhill bikes with 12mm through axles on the rear. They've said that the strength and stiffness you get from this is unheard of from a standard 10mm quick release hub. I was going to get either a Hadey or a Chris King as both these companies have had these types of hubs tried and tested on the downhill circuit. I'll still buy a Leeson frame, i was just trying to be inventive and original when it comes to getting a custom built frame.
  10. Yeah i will. Was just wondering if anybody has had it done before, or has enquired about getting one made.
  11. Ever since i saw Kris Leeson riding his bike at the Birmingham bike show, I've always wanted one. I was just going to buy one of their standard build frames but now that i have read their website i'm intrested in getting a custom build. Does anybody know if Clive Leeson would build me a frame with a 12mm through axel?
  12. Just wathched this video, and my god these guys are insane. Im always surprised at how much effort they put into their demos. The blocks and cotton reels looked like trials heaven, wish i was there.
  13. Not most people have as they are'nt main stream bands, to heavy for radio. Ill name some more if you like.
  14. Dont see why people would complain. I posted this because listening to music influences my riding and im sure im not the only rider that listens to music while they are out on there bike.
  15. Not a bike question in general but there is a connection. Most of the time i go out riding i like to listen to music, it somehow helps you focus better. I mainly listen to heavy metal, such as slayer, sepultura, devildriver, inflames, archenemy, darktranquility eg. The list is endless, i love listening to music that gets me pumped. Post up your favourite sort of music.
  16. I have unfortunately. Both with magura blood and water, it does'nt seem to affect the way the piston reacts. Bleeding them with water was my friends idea, he though that because the water is thinner than magura oil the piston retract back after i had pulled the brake. It never. The brake does have a better feel and more power but the pistons still jam out.
  17. God damn i think im going to schedule another road trip for next year. Theres just to many places you've posted up for us to visit in just a couple of days. This is crazy, you guys are so welcoming to new members of this forum, thanks. Will have some footage of me riding posted up soon(next week maybe), so you can see how we ride up here.
  18. Dont actualy know if anybody make 2inch rise trials specific bars. Any downhill bars will do for street riding though, i ride tioga dh bars on my Pashley and my DMR. Trying to find a set of bars that suit you could take while because most bars are'nt made the same. Some have different degrees of rise, upsweep, backsweep and width. Then you have to figure out what material you want them to be made out of . Try using some of your friends bikes and see if any of them suit you. Ask the local bike shop aswell.
  19. Did you find out the name of the magazine?. This magazine must be able to read the future because there is no information on the internet about GT making a 2007 Fueler. No pictures either, maybe what you saw was a prototype that has'nt made it into production yet.
  20. I finished with my back brake last night and the stupid things still locking out. There were'nt any burs or lips on any of the magura cables but thanks anyway "courts". I am going to try one more thing before i launch them in the bin. I mentioned earlier about t-pieces(or y-pieces), does any body know where i can get hold of these?
  21. Whats the meaning of this post?. Not to sure what your implying.
  22. Thanks again guys, im just going to put a list together of all the cities people are posting up and ill pick from there where were going. Might only be a week were going to be on this road trip so we will be on the move quite a lot. Maybe only a couple of a hours at each spot. Ill keep you posted.
  23. What do you mean by disk adaptor?

    Shoes!

Just go for what you think feels best. Iv always worn skate shoe and they all seem too be fine. Any company: etnies,dc,adio,es and circa. Iv used all these brands and there all good. Wear on shope is natuaraly going to happen anyway, it just depends on how often you ride. Its the exact same for trials specific shoes, they only last as long as normal shoes.
  25. No way, unless your putting it on another bike. Most of the stuff sounds like it died a long time a go. For ten pound it aint bad but all youll be left with is the rear rim, the front wheel, tyres, stem and grips. So youll still have to spend more money to get the stuff repaired or rebuilt. your choice buddy.
