Try different pads? Heatsink yellows on a smooth rim. You could just grind your rim
-
Clearly you bottom bracket isn't high enough As the said it technique and practice. You need to see what works for you.every one does it different

Ali would love to see you riding the hex in comps. you need to talk to inspired and get them to make a proper trials frame with similar geo to the hex. the worst part with the high bb trend is that if every company follows there will not be any low bb frames on the market. I personally dont like high bb and dont really see the need for them to be so high. Ive tried many frames all with different geos, each with a higher bbs. They dont make any difference for riding.its still a bike and you ride it the same way. If you focus to much on the geo of your bike you never ride it to your full potention because your to busy consentrating on are your chain stays the correct length for this set up,or my bb is to high to get up this sidehop etc, etc. to many people change there frames to keep up with the geo changes and dont get a chance to learn how there existing bike feels/handles.

Settle down princess,I was unaware trials was a fashion statement

anything above 45mm is to high

The stone discs are good for a really sharp grind. I found the brake have amazing bite, but only in the forward direction. I had heaps of backwards roll throughs. The stone wheel doesn't remove heap of material from your rim per grind. But you have to grind more to keep it sharpe. For best brake consistency use a 3mm cutting wheel and learn to grind correctly and you will have rewarding braking.

You could change your gear ratio by one tooth aswell

I'm have good luck with the odyessy blue bird chain.it has one halflink riveted on. I've been trying to snap this chain and no dice yet. I'm a big guy and shred cool chains,so this ones worth considering. It's basically a kmc 510hx just with a half link

The TNN begreens.half lgm and half beleay

Inspired need to make the hex have wider brake mounts. I love the feel of the hex and would use on as a comp trials frame. Just need to be able to run wider rims for natty.

i found riding without any brakes installed make you a better rider, you have to commit to every move more and it makes you bike positioning much better, less room for error i enjoyed riding brakeless, and still ride brakeless these days, i remove myh brakes every few weeks to keen it fun. the main think i noticed riding brakeless then using brakes is that you dont brake check or use you brakes as often, only when you need to. it make your riding smoother and more exciting to watch.

Intresting. This frame has made my back worse, that why I'm getting a 165 stem. No worries man, hope you get it sorted
-
I'm riding the same frame. I'm a similar height and know what your saying. I'm running trialtech standard rise,150x30 and 22mm of spacers. I feel the reach is to short on this frame for me and I'm waiting on a 165x25mm stem to make the reach longer. Check that your reach suits your heulight, not your bar height

Search online, there's heaps of stuff for polishing metals. If you do polish your rims and run an unground smooth rim DON'T polish the side walls. Because polishing smooths the surface to a super fine finish of microns you brakes will never work again. Smooth unground rims would still have a very course finish compaired to polished. If you grind then it doesn't matter at all.

what size is that stem?

They also wear like this because of the plastic backings

Unless you want to get a new light wheel I wouldn't bother. The amount you would save isn't worth the effort. Loose weight in other parts tires, chain pedals, cranks and bb. Just swapping cranks and bb I lost 500gr,swapping to lighter tires is nice,I lost 500gr there aswell, but lost ridability.I much prefer running decent tires again You could save weight in your current wheel by changing rim and hub

I know tartys is good, how ever they didn't have stock of the tires we wanted, secondly postage from tartys to Australia is ridiculous. So when we saw trials- uk had the tires and postage was cheaper we went that option. But now we have lost our Money it doesn't seem like the best thing to of done. Don't worry I'll never order from them again. The other reason we considered them was because one of our riding buddies got stuff from them before with no hastle and speedy service. Man trials-uk sucks ball.you cannot run a business that way.

I'm one of the guys that tims talking about from the hunter,so you can contact me if you venture that way. This is a new spot we found the other day, done a few hours clearing.

i had heard they had bad service, also heard good things. its a mixed feelings about them, sucks for me that i had a bad dealings.
-
In hind site I agree. They had 4 of the tire we wanted and postage was cheaper then tartys(at the time, before they changed the postage costs)
-
I have the same feeling with hope brakes.Im really loving how my saint works.

hey guys just wondering on your dealings with trials uk is? A Friend and I order some tires from them, from the day of order it took 19 days for them to reply. Telling us that postage was incorrectly quoted, the postage quote was because there online calculator didnt include Australia. As soon as we were emailed telling us that we owe more postage, we were disapointed. Mainly because it took them 19 days to reply to our order. Thats terrible service if you ask me. If it was a few days it would be an issue, but 19 days is a fair while. We have sent a few email to them and still no reply. Its been 2 months now since my friends credit card was charged and we still havent received anything, not even follow up emails about cancelling the order and getting our money refunded. We are not very happy on this matter. Please if any of you guys know them can you get in there ear about this.
