My name has been taken down 4 times by far, always when I was riding. First time exactly for nothing. Just because they needed to collect a fixed amount of people's names daily. Other times somebody didn't like the way of where and how I was riding so he called police.
It also depends on how true the wheel is. I noticed that my old wheel with the cheapest hub aviable at my lbs spinned much smoother even than my king. 20' wheel, echo disc hub (05) - 1m44s
I'd go for bashring. It's lighter - bashrings add 50-120g when bashplates with all stuff needed to mount it (rubber, frame mounts, bolts) add 200g and more.Landing on a bashring may damage crank or bb which is cheaper to replace than a frame broken from landing on bashplate.
http://www.dressler.cz/E_shop/details.php?...t=3&start=0&nr= The photo shows they have white strips but the product's description says they have gold/yellow strips. And they weigh only 920g .
Recently I bought a Ck bmx converted to Iso disc from AspireVeloTech. They didn't charge me anything for conversion - I paid as for standard bmx hub. However, you may have problems with running bmx disc hub and Monty frame as the disc mount in the hub is way off (closer to the dropout than standard disc hubs are).
Here in Poland lots of riders use them (but now it's almost impossible to find one because silent cluthes are no longer manufactured and Polish sc market is virtually empty now. However, I heard of new Shimano Bmx line called Dxr or so and their rear hub shell looks like it contains silent clutch mechanism) as the hubs are/were cheap and have good engagement. Yes, they feel spongy but you'll get used to it fast and then won't notice it so much. Theoretically it has endless amount of EPs but actually they feel like 36EP - similar to Acs freewheel I rode few times. I rode also a bike with Eno green (72ep) and it felt much more quickly engageing than silent clutch. Their durability? My first sc was Deore Lx and the drive shell blew up after year of riding (in meantime I killed one or two axles and bearings). Average lifetime of my friends' ones is 6-9 months though.
You should remember there are extreme temperarures (not to mention there is almost no pressure) on the moon, so forget using any hydro brakes there as seals will be melt down and brake liquids will probably blow out on day. At night every liquid is gonna freeze. It may also affect any lube/grease so there may be engagement problems aswell. Cheers
Well... It is possible as when I was seeking mainly mod wheels' pic shot at proper angle to use as a base for my project, I browsed bike pics thread and finally found it. I even don't remember whose bike it was Anyway, I'm sorry if you feel offended by using it without permission. If you wish I can remove the pic from the thread
Bit off-topic considering your expectations: I made this few days ago in Photoshop. It isn't done to scale at all but I wish it had 1020mm WB, +55mm BB, 355mm CS and 71.5 deg., 120mm headtube. Rear disc only, +63mm IS disc mount.
It's probably a lacing called "snow flakes". I had it in mod rear wheel and there was a lot of flex on the spokes. Headtubes are normal 1 1/8 inch size for standard oversize headsets.
