  1. I'm currently using avid bb7 203mm in my mod (rear wheel). By far I have done dozen of rides so maybe it just hasn't bedded in yet but it's still slipping backwards. It is also now not having almost any initial bite so I have to pull the lever fully to lock my wheel - it really doesn't help in gaps as when I start applying force to pedal the brake takes part of that force. Not only that - it's spongy on the lever. I'm using quite good cables (Jagwire Ripcord), an Xtr lever (with speed dial/tpa set up in the middle to decrease still too big sponginess). I'm starting to miss a standard rim brake, with loads of tar. Btw - anyone used tar with disc brake? Will it make the rotor contaminated forever?
  2. I remember that it was done with Echo Hifi but it was probably headtube only. They made a comparison with the xtp headtube.
  3. If he's a monster maybe he need to get some koxx st forks. They're entirely steel though.
  4. There is a way to make it live longer by pressing some steel ring onto the driveshell but it has to be very tight to work properly.
  5. According to trials regulations on uci.ch website a stock trials bike should have at least 6 working gears of different size:
  6. can't enter comps - true can't use gears - I would argue as the ck ss driveshell is wide enough to mount at least two sprockets (I think I saw somewhere ck ss with three sprockets).
  7. For bigger distance between flanges and dishless wheel you can buy Chris King Singlespeed hub
  8. Go for Chris King as it doesn't have pawls inside.
  9. Just barely 0,5GB It will take ages for me to download this (256kbps) but I'm sure it will pay off. Click me If the link won't work at the first (few) time(s) try again (and again) and it will for sure. Or just use any download resumer like Flash Get.

    Ck Headset

Yes. Quote from the King website: "Though our offer still stands, few people ever have to take us up on our 10 year warranty."
  11. It has been already discussed on this forum. That lacing is called snow flake.
  12. www.bikemielec.com Here are close-ups of the disc mount: The disc tab is 9mm thick. Well maybe worldwide but not in my country. As I know there are 5 rear ck hubs used in trials in Poland now. Two of them are bmx iso disc
  13. Hello again guys, sorry for so late reply but I had a lot to do at my uni. Thanks for all the comments! I paid together with postage and custom chain tensioners 875PLN which is something around 150 pounds. Before installing the rotor I cleaned it with soap and water and then used toilet tissue to make it dry. I rode it yesterday and today and the braking is constantly improving. Still sometimes it slips but only sometimes and I thing it just need a bit more time to break in. Well I mistook in the measurements I took a bit. With shortened chain(stays) the bb rise is about +70mm. That still makes difference comparing to previous chainstays because the "horizontal dropouts" aren't perfectly horizontal. I forgot to say I shortened the chain mainly because with 362mm cs brake pads didn't fully touched the braking surface of the rotor, only in 80%. Having it shortened, now they touch the rotor fully. I specified in the order geometry for a bit different fork geometry - 365mm long and 45mm rake (like forxx, team have I think). My fork is slightly higher - 370-375mm long and 45mm offset, but I haven't made such a difference to change the bb rise from +55mm to +70mm though. It's obviously theirs (mielec's) mistake. Once more I thank you all for all the comments. Keep'em comming
  14. My new bike This is probably the first frame ever compatible with disc and chris king bmx disc hub without any extra adaptors. The disc mount is very special - not only is it set off the center of wheel (comparing to standard mounts) but it is also +63mm. It means that I use front 160mm disc caliper and 203mm rotor. The geometry on the photos is a bit weird - 1030wb, 362cs and about +75-80mm bb. With bt stem/bar combo it rode very uncomfy. I have managed yet to shorten the chain by two links and currently the geo is 1020/350/+65. It's still not my favourite though, too short. I'm considering sending it back to Mielec factory to get the bb lower as I ordered (+55mm). I haven't ridden the bike for long time, only few days but despite the gigantic rotor on the back, it works wank. When I first was riding it almost didn't stop at all. Then I made lot of full stops using only rear brake and poured a water onto the rotor. Repeated that process few times. The breaking improved, especially when the rotor was still wet. But when it is dry it doesn't brake as good as I expected. No matter how I pull the lever, it slips backward on rails, stairs, steep surfaces. I will try to clean the rotor, bed it in once more. If it still works bad I'll probably return to magura. Well, at least it looks pimp
  15. I'm afraid welding a disc mount could be risky. A disc brake generates lots more force than a rim brake. The disc mount could easily crack at the weld. Additionally, if your frame does not have a disc mount it's for sure not intended to be used with a disc brake and can break fast.
  16. Use "they/them" instead "you" in your posts, 'cause that's not my vid. I even don't live in that country (Russia)
  17. Reposted from the New Members area, because I think to few people saw it though it's awesome : http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=filebrowser/and file Kaliningrad2006.avi
  18. oh my god, that was really insane . So insane that it deserves to be posted in Trials Videos subforum, what I'm going to do in a while

    New Tra Vid

Look at koxx.fr site. Two new vids have been posted one day ago. I don't know why nobody has posted it here yet Edit: just realised that mai032006.wmv is actually tracast02 video renamed.
  20. Maybe try Gravesend. I saw a lot of great places to ride when I was working there last year.
  21. As for the hub you probably won't pay any extra bucks for iso bmx comparing to regular bmx one. I bought a disc bmx hub from Aspire and they didn't charge me any extra for that. And if anybody was worried about warranty - Scot from Aspire told me that such a hub (iso disc bmx) is covered under standard 5 year ck warranty (like any ck hub).
  22. I don't want to make a new topic so I'm posting it here: Do Iso Disc and Classic hubs have the same bearings? or the iso one has a bigger bearing on the non drive side?
  23. Nope, an 1 1/8 inch headtube is not a tube with such a diameter, it's for steerer with 1 1/8 inch diameter. So this headtube obviously has to be bigger. My ck headset manual says the required headtube bore diameter is 33,9mm (it's the inner diameter at places where headset cups are pressed in).
  24. Well, not in trials world where it's measured as Fatmike said. The Hifi frame is designed for forks with "400mm fork blade with 45mm forward, 10mm bottom head set" (quoting from the echo site). I presume the frame is designed to work with Hifi fork and they are the dimensions of them.
