  1. I wasn't going to add to this topic, although it's been quite funny to read but, whilst on this subject, can I just ask what the big deal is about 'promoting trials' and making it bigger? I can see the plus points of it, in theory, cheaper parts, more socially accepted etc, but also they are some disadvantages aren't there? More people bashing walls about on the streets, and the more frequent it will be, the more likely it is that there could be some sort of council 'ban' on us riding? Or am I jsut talking gibberish? I for one though, quite like being part of a minority sport. If someone asks me about what trials, I just say it's a bit of a cross between bmx and mountain biking, but slower. If they are still then interested at this point, I explain further. Surely if we all wanted to be part of a major popular sport, or whatever this promotion is for, we would've all played football, or tennis?! Anyhow, that's my twopenneth. I'm not really very opinionated on this sort of thing, nor do I really care for opinions like this much. "Opinions are like a**holes, everyones got one" As has been said, just ride. If trials becomes the next big craze, so be it, and we'll reep the benefits of 'being there first'; but if it doesn't: 'meh' .....
  2. nice! What's the front tire? Coloured sidewalls ***
  3. whilst on the subject, what courier's can anyone recommend?
  4. late notice I know, but change of plans. I'll be there from 10am. Cost: just a tenner Directions and maps: http://www.surreysb.co.uk/venues/hook-woods.htm nearest train station is Clandon, which is about 3.5 miles ride from venue.
  5. Yep I agree. Even a rubbishy low res phone pic is enough just to get an idea. or even use a stock photo from one of the bike retailers (remember to give them credit for nicking their pics though), at least until a decent pic can be uploaded
  6. KOT ms2 short ? CZAR Ivan short quite high bb though ZHI ? why not just go for the new version of your current frame? Control 07 touch higher bb and a frame you'll already know well. other than that, go ashton
  7. Definately agree with that. Diesels are good for torque, but they just aren't 'free-revving' like a petrol but who can complain at doing over 500 miles of 'enthusiastic' driving, for just £40 worth of diesel
  8. Hi Right forks turned up today, so I go to fit them in the bike, and then think I havn't thought this through. .. When I cut the steerer length down, can i use the old star fangled nut out of there? and when I cut the tube, if I fit the forks, and stem, and mark where the top of the stem is, how much below this should I cut? The monty has an internal headset, I know there should be a spacer to fit in the top part of the headtube, but what about the bottom? Thanks in advance Dan
  9. PM the physio guy on here, I've only heard good things about him. Nearly had to do this myself when I landed awkward the other day Try here.... http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=85569

    Ribo Casas.

The shoe that you've got on your website looks like sv-2's, like you were selling on eBay. Is this 'Casas' model any different to sv-2's or sv-1's?
  13. No saturday 11th mate. Shocked, no-one interested?

  19. Hi I've been up to hook woods today, setting out a trial for tomorrow and practicing. Spoken to landowner for quite a while, and he's given me the go ahead to organise a series of practice days up there, so basically, I'm looking for people that are definately interested and won't let me down, as I'll need the money upfront. It's £10 a pop, which is good really when you see just how much stuff is there, and it is being updated on a regular basis. I'd also liek to know what days people prefer. Ideally Saturday's are good, but I can arrange for pretty much anytime, if I have a couple of days notice. Transport: for those of you that don't drive, I've got a van, so can arrange to pick people up from Guildford/Haslemere Train station. PM me or e-mail/add DanBeaven@hotmail.com for those who want more info or are interested thanks
  20. Already available on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Boxed-2007-Hope-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. I've had a Megamo dual disc, using older style mini's, for past few years. Next bike is a Monty 231 ti, and that'll be dual-disc. I've never had any real problems with them. Set them up well, try and get the mounts faced if possible, spend a bit of time making sure the calipers are aligned about right, and keep them serviced. The mini's I've run have been on there for over 3 years, only just had to give one any real attention, and that was only bleed the system, change the pads
  22. sweet, so can I get a 180mm rotor on the back of a monty 231 (standard IS mount) without the need for an adaptor?? (sorry this is a bit off topic lol)
