  1. Sorry, I know that there is the pad review section, but I can't find the answers I'm looking for - - just getting myself back into trials after a near 3 year layoff, so bit of a newbish to it all! Bought an Ashton Justice and I've fitted a rear v-brake - Avid ad7 levers and arms, but need some better pads - too many out there to choose from! I've looked at Coustsinks, Heatsinks, TNNs ..... Could someone help identify which will work best for my setup? Sd7 lever and arms Ashton frame Onza adaptors No booster (yet) Try-all rim with light / dying grind.
  2. I've got a Moto lever with 07 trial caliper on the Monty I'm selling. Well worth the money I reckon, particularly if like me you get fed up of the standard lever's bite point keep getting closer and closer to the bar. I've also found that the brake becomes more powerful when you have set-up in the comfy position! Moto lever is still bled like any normal hope disc brake
  3. I'm entered , so will you be wanting a lift from station?
  4. Really? Couldn't find any details for that? Ah thanks, might as well get the BIU bit if it' free! Who do I check with? Barry? or Dave? thanks
  5. Nearest train station is Clandon. You'll have to go London Waterloo > Surbiton and change here onto a train to Clandon. Takes about an hour. I'm thinking I might do this comp so depending on what time you're at Clandon station I could give you a lift to 'woods if you want? I've got ACU card, do I need to get anything else to participate? Or can it be done on day?
  6. Salt aids the absorption of water into the bloodstream Don't have to go as far as eating a bag of salty crisps, just putting a bit on you meals will help - or even in water
  7. bit of a bump.....does anyone know of any companies (i.e. bike shipping agents/importers) that I could ring and have a chat with or e-mail....have tried googling it but I'm a little confused
  8. Ah right thanks...so you're actually boiling the pads - guess that figures!
  9. This might sound a little dumb..... but when you say boiling water, what EXACTLY do you do? Removing some blue Rock Pads, I boiled a kettle, bunged the pads in an empty milk bottle, and then three quarters filled it with the boiling water from the kettle. Left it in there for a short while, and then pulled them out quick and tried to pull apart using two pairs of mole-grips - didn't work! Tried a few times as well but I ended up snapping the pad material!
  10. VW caddy? get the TDI model. new shape one looks awesome with a set of golf wheels!
  11. 08 Mont details are up, sod all changes yet again. 260 kit including mapper is £900...believe me I wouldn't normally consider this..myself and my Dad have been around motorbike trials for far too long, know far too many faces, to go grey importing. I'd estimate we've had between 15 and 20 new bikes from UK dealers/importers in the last 7 years, and tried all the different mods etc (most of which are a waste of time and money!) The RTL is actually quite a significantly better bike, it has all the mods on it you'd ever want/need, and for less than the standard one (and it looks a ton better than 08 4rt) I've heard a figure of £500 - £600 to get it here and all paper work done? Yes please if you could find the dealer you mentioned that would be great
  12. Yes it is a proper bike Alot of all the extra goodies, and for less than a standard EU one So, is it impossible? or just extremely hard to do? thanks for your help so far Oooh just to add, on the note of supporting importers, I have always bought from UK, however, Sandifords aren't interested in getting these in
  13. Thanks, yes was probably jumping the gun a little bit, but it was because in the incident where I mashed the crossover, I landed really hard on the cylinder, so it would have been understandable if had started playing up. I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I had actually tried bleeding it with a syringe etc, as well as the bath bleed technique, but neither had been very succesful. Eventually discovered Saturday it was the new Hope crossover. Where the fittings on the end it are, they interanl diameter goes thick - thin - thick, and think this was causing it to hold little air bubbles in. Anyway, fixed it by using the syringe method and bath method combined, now makes an awesome brake! thanks again
  14. I'm interested in buying a bike from Japan, and would like to know what's involved. It would be a brand new bike, so should have all the necessary documentation with it, but what's involved with taxes, registration etc? It's a trials bike, so doesn't need to be fully road legal, butI would register it for the road etc . Has anyone had any experience with something similar? Are there any decent company's in the South that would sort this all out? Estimate of costs? thanks Dan
  15. Mashed my braided cross-over last weekend, only had a chance to fit a new one last night, and it's sluggish/spongey/slow/SH*T It's been done with a decent 'bath bleed', and I did a few times to make sure, but nothing's getting better. Very annoying as it was an awesome brake pre-smash, and I hadn't touched it for months! So what do I replace it with? Tarty Adam's new second-hand maggy @ £50 One of these new Dengura thing's? Or go crazy and do a v-brake conversion? If it helps, I'm looking for a brake that has a sensible light feel to it, but with a very definate bite point on it, and decent amount of hold. It's on a Koxx coust, and it doesn't get ridden every day, and usually it's on natural. Dan
  16. If you say so And thanks for missing me off of the report in the paper this week
  17. Does anyone know the name of the song with the video with loads of people sat at desks in grey (I think) jumpsuits, bar one in orange (?) Seen it a few times, but always forget to note it down! thanks in advance
  18. Factory internals lol... set of jets, adjust the tangs, different valve, and different needle or choke if you feel like it. Browny's onto the Keihin now, as are all the proper factory/TT Beta's. They've been playing with them for the last three months Edit: Should also add that I'm not slagging it off - the polishing and attention to detail is very good...should spend more time riding it though!
  19. Factory my foot... that carb's still a mikuni!
  20. probably a re-post, but I havn't seen it before......world champs way back in 05! here
  21. Koxx Coust's are awesome especially if you love natural/comp stuff...probably not so great for street though?
  22. Does this mean no more orange Try-All rims?
  23. Yes it was that thanks. Found the instructions for it were also in the handbook..silly me for not looking first
