Connecting the various structural parts of Trials frame together with straight tubes gives an obvious weight advantage as less metal used. Trials frames are not all about weight saving, the feed back and ride experience is very important, using curved top and down tubes has a huge effect on the feel of a frame, why should Monty have a monopoly on that concept? ZHI are committed to improving their products without pushing prices out of reach of the average rider. Many have been left high and dry when their high end double disc frame has failed shortly after the warranty period has expired, in future they will have the option to assemble a new bike using a ZHI and their existing parts. I am considering offering customers that send me their out of warranty cracked/broken double disk frame a discount, (regardless of frame age), if they replace it with a ZHI, are any of you in that situation?

The ZHI factory has sent me some photographs of unfinished pre-production models. Manufacture is well under way, lead time 20 – 30 days. They are making every effort to get these to dealers as quickly as possible. Full build options will be available; this answers previous ZHI disc hub questions. No doubt the full builds will arrive here ex brakes, leaving customers to make their own choice, although I can supply with Hope if required. The last image is of the front end of a stock frame. More details as they arrive.

In answer to the above; Prices; I'll work on that over the weekend. V brake; I can supply anything from their range, even if its to order. The supply of the initial order was good, well organised and economical, if an item is not in stock a to order option would arrive faster than most. Fred.

NSE has agreed with Hungarian manufacturer Magellan to import their products into the U.K. Sample frames have already arrived and will be allocated to two prominent U.K. riders for promotion, they have already been well tested on the European scene. Although shown in yellow, the 26" shares the same colour scheme as the 20" Expect some riding pictures soon. Fred.

This weeks big show is the Royal at Stoneleigh. Visitors can see Ben Savage and James Hyland on the Nissan stand.

A kit? Is it self assembly? Is it safe? What does the kit consist of? The MOE ones, (on order and set to arrive as fast as Tim can ship them), are manufactured by an aeronautical company to a very high standard. The MOE philosophy is to provide exceptional value for money, our 7 series cranks, bars and stems that will hit the market soon will back up my statement. Fred.

I have to agree with you, the graphics are overstated, probably a result of having 10 sets made up by a local vinyl lettering company or they have been retro fitted by the owner. This is not a mass produced item, making the commission of 1000 sets of graphically designed transfers impossible. As for the bars, owners personal choice. That aside Franks frame is steadily growing in popularity. Fred.

Max you have a PM. Fred.

I wonder what inspires people to write such random crap. Compile a list of products I over charge for compared to other retailers below................................. Fred.

As clerk of the course for Blackpool I feel inclined to comment; Wayne, you know more than most about the restraints and limitations forced on us with regards to section marking out at Blackpool. Restrictions aside, I try to set out a fair course that will take marks – that is the object of the exercise. You suggest that some riders are taking crafty routes through the sections – I say GOOD! I say that because it costs a rider a mark to dab around a marker and that produces the end result. If you wanted you could have done the same, I assume you did not because don’t enjoy doing that, I’m pleased for you that you chose to have the most enjoyable day available and went for the risky clean instead of the safe 1. With reference to your thoughts on the severity of the sections; If you’re not going to look beyond the winners score for a bench mark for section severity any comp you lay out will be too hard for all but the winner. I see absolutely nothing wrong with a class winner going clean – as long as the 2nd and 3rd etc riders loose marks. Any fool can take 30 off the winner – I’ve made that mistake my self, (Brimham last year). Set out an event with a low winning score and you get one or two complaints from people that are upset because they had a stupid 5 and heaps of thanks and support from the other 98% of competitors. Any move to shift the goal posts and take a high score off the winner will fail. If Sundays winners had dropped 20 a piece what do you estimate, (or even better do the maths), the other riders would have finished on – or would they all have retired? Fred.

V adapters are included in my next shipment. ZHI retailers will have access to them once they arrive.

Topics gone a bit off course........................ So back to the question. ZHI have already made a D-D mod, so it stands to reason that they will produce their own hubs. I'll ask them when. Fred.

Just taken delivery of ZHI brake pads, will post pics later.

This is going a little off topic. Currently there are a number of championships any rider can pursue, people are voting with their feet and will continue to do so. You don’t have to go to one over the other or to all – just do what you want. Let’s get back to the point in question; It appears that in general riders want 20 and 26” classes separated. I find it hard to accept Kelly farm’s remarks – your events do not mirror an International event perfectly, so why not adjust an unpopular aspect of the rules?
-
It does, but please look into the rules before commenting. MAIN REPLY. Some have suggested that this year should be used as an experiment – can’t agree with that as those it effects will potentially be spending large sums of money to act as guinea pigs and ride in events using a format they don’t agree with. Other Nations are applying the rules, I wager their riders won’t be happy with the system either and it will change back, so why spoil a year in the U.K. Riders like James Sheridan, Sam Oliver etc will not feel as bad off at the Worlds as they won’t be matched against Elites, but will still have the disadvantage of riding against 26”. The Biu U.K. committee claim to be a democratic body, maybe they should listen to their electorate and put in place an acceptable regime. For example; If almost 50% of the entire entry must be lumped into the Yellow route, give points and trophies for both 20 and 26”. If you’re worried about the fact that the series has already started then change to make three out of four count, the fact that the 1st round has passed means that this should not impact on your final round. What is there to loose? Either the price of a few inexpensive trophies, or the attendance of a number of dedicated young riders that are the future of the sport. Fred.

That view does exist, but it is certainly not my view. I have the greatest respect for 20” riders, curiously the BIU has always held them in higher regard than 26’ers, hence the "can go" from Elite to Master but not the other way rule. I find it strange that the BIU have made it so difficult for 20” icons to maintain their reputation at World level. If you add up the advantages and disadvantages of one type of bike over the other at any given event I am convinced the 26” would come out on top. That is why I said in my opening post – is this the death of the mod. I agree with the post that said two classes made events more entertaining to watch.
