Brake Pad Thread!

Recommended Posts

Well I have been on TF for sometime now, and every week there is a newbie who makes a brake pad thread, and it getting annoying how they dont use the search! So I thought why not make a thread all about brake pads as it seems to be a main topic for everyone, its not also because it gets annoying seeing a new thread every week about brake pads, but it will also help keep all brake pad threads in one topic!

Im just really trying this out thought it would be a good idea, and see if it helps!

So basically lets see if it works!

Newbies ask all you want about brake pads, and everyone try and help, dont muck this up!

Just for the record I use: Rock Pads Blue

HeatSink Snowies

Johny out!

pads used: rock pads blue

brake : magura hs 33, oil bleed, on ko km1 frame (intergrated booster)

length of time used: 10hrs

rim : 19" viz with a sharp fresh grind.

other pads used: koxx browns, kool stops, blacks.

review : awsome pads, the best i have ever used, although i havent use many. perfect hold and bite, couldn't ask for more. they are disgustingly loud as well which gets on my nerves, but it is reassuring i suppose

10/10

ive used a fair few of the top name pads out thear such as........koxx browns on light medium and deep grinds all sharp..on the koxx browns i would deffo recomend nothing less than a deep sharp grind.......brill power bite ........but i like my rim to last a little longer so then went and got some koxx reds.......ive tried them on light sharp grinds and medium sharp grinds...recomend them on either grind to be honnest...grate hold power and bite rather nice whoosh noise to......monty pads on super light grind.....works well nice bite and hold again but dont last that long in comparison to any pads i have used!....my personal fave ....the plazmatic crm pads....light sharp grind is all i have ever had to use.....i cant fault my rear brake at all apart from wet weather preformance is rather dull......but who cares its summer woob-wooob.......In the near future i shall be getting some coustsinks...and rock pads (blue)as ive heard both are considerd bloddy awsome pads.......

i hope this helps any one who is considering getting any of the listed pairs above............

I'm running a medium grind with zoo! pads and no booster, its got an amazing lock but the sound gets quite annoying so i was thinking about plaz pads. Are they any good? i'v heard they are just as good as the zoo! pads but without the sound. Is this true?

I am a bit behind the times and still using ceramic D521's on my trials rig (Diamond back trial pro frame from about 6 years ago). I currently use kool stops but was wondering if anybody thinks there is a better pad out there for use with ceramics?
