Savage
Here are some pictures of my new Slate 2 frame that arrived on Friday. It looks beautiful and it feels crazy light too! I have spent the last two days riding at the Castle Skills indoor trials park and I love it. Its by far the stiffest frame I have ever ridden. The bb is a little higher than Im used to which made it feel a little strange at first, but after an hour I was feeling comfortable on it. I have already done 2 lines / moves that I could not do on my Limey3! I think this frame is really going to help my riding progress. The final production bikes will be a different colour (green and charcoal) and the logos will possibly be a little different too, Im not 100% sure though. Finally got round to changing my freewheel after it blew up last week. Now the bikes built up again I have taken some pics, although there not the best. What does every one think? Ben. Hannah Shucksmith
The graphics are pretty cool but the font looks damn gay, it's pretty generic and just looks like a typical Microsoft font. In my opinion it'll be a bad idea for Rockman to duplicate the frame and sell it in the charcoal / green as the silver works well with the in-detail graphics. Most (or all...) of the standard Rockman frames are colourful and it'll be a good idea for them to produce a frame that caters for riders who prefer the not so in-your-face look of a bike. Without the colour the frame still looks eyecatching and simplistic without being too bland. freetrial
Sweet! Genious how the built in booster sits "inside" the seatstays, rather than on top. Looking forward to pics of the complete bike. Geo/ weight? Also, good luck for 2010!

Guest
I agree with hannah, the silver looks swish, and it helps people transfer the components of one fram on to this with out worrying aobut buying parts that will look good with the frame (colour wise)
Matt Burrows
Thats the 2nd best looking frame I've seen, after the Koxx Sky. I think it looks awesome Ben, good luck riding it next season.
Alex Dark
Looks pretty nice...is that frame made from the mythical u6 aluminium then? Dropouts look fairly minimalist....any chance of HD bolts fitting?
Shaun H
Loving the minimalist dropouts and the welds are particularly smart looking. Is the chainstay yoke two U sections welded together making a hollow structure? Think I've seen it on Koxx frames before but looks more obvious on this. streetjibs
looks alot better than the unpainted proto slate 2 that i saw about 2months back.. good to see some great improvements. ie booster inside etc. Im pretty sure its made of U6 too which is a big plus... like the old echo pures/zoo boas etc - light n strong. can you please confirm the geo??? I was told 1080.380.50 is this stil right? cheers for postin pics
Al_Fel
Ha ha ha it says "Slate It" so I will... The chain stays look like they are going to crack at the bb and I'm not really digging the bracing plates on the rear end. To be honest though it looks really nice. Having a straight line from the head tube to the drop outs makes so much more sense and looks so much better. I dig it.
