Bronz
Hullo all. Just went out on my lonesome for a couple of hours to Leeds uni to practice. Decided to dig through all my stuff and pull out a four year old digital camera with some half arsed excuse for a video mode and took it with me.The edit's not reyt cracking at all, I realise that—I had very little time to work on it as I've had client stuff to do this evening but a quick 10 minute jobbie in Movie Maker (I know, I know. I'll buy some decent software after I get my new bike) I came up with this.Vimeo link.Riding looks quite small on there to be honest, smaller than in real life. But I reckon that's down the the weird camera angles I got from leaving the camera on floors/walls etc.I've never seen myself riding on camera before except quick phone clips, not sure how silly you all think I look being 6'4" on a mod haha. Please critique it though, not so much the edit as I know it's a pretty slack job as it is, but anything constructive please. I was very happy with the feedback I got in my first ever pics thread Also, the tune is 'My Dub Is Your Dub' by DJ Fidelity.EDIT: Look out for my silliness at 2.05. Off balance lol. Nickkkkk
nice first attempt but it needed trimming down much more to keep the pace of the vid going... the riding was really good and you have a good style. Nice manual at the end
Bronz
nice first attempt but it needed trimming down much more to keep the pace of the vid going…Definitely agree there, I didn't have a great deal of time though, plus I want to wait 'til I get a decent camera and decent software before I start making any decent edits. I can't face pouring hours into MS Movie Maker haha. It's even more apparent now you've said it too.…the riding was really good and you have a good style. Nice manual at the end Cheer mate, appreciate it And I have to say I am pretty good at my manuals (I think being so tall and on a mod helps getting the bike into its sweet spot to be honest). chimpanzyyyy
cool riding, I love manualsas it was said, editing was gay, make the vid boring as f...really don't need to over editing "tgs slow mo black&white style"...but just cut your clips to keep the flow from one move to anotherkeep it up

I'm looking forward to getting out filming with a proper camera at some point. I don't want all the OTT black and white either. Rather have a subtle edit, easier/nicer to watch IMO. I guess when my riding is better I can put loads of effort into a decent vid over a few rides, rather than making some mediocre clips span >4 mins haha.Loving the feedback, please continue, it's really appreciated.Harry Edited July 3, 2009 by Bronz

N.Wood
Was an ok first attempt, stuff never looks as big on camera as it does it real life. Not down to camera angles, just down to the way it is.
Bronz
buy a tripod or get a friend to video you you do look a smooth-ish rider too, good effortWell I'm not good enough to warrant buying a tripod just yet I don't think, but I do tend to ride with mates more often than not.And thanks, nice to hear Was an ok first attempt, stuff never looks as big on camera as it does it real life. Not down to camera angles, just down to the way it is.Yeah, wasn't expecting miracles from my first home made vid at all. Having never really filmed anything before I just put the size thing down to camera angles, but it's reassuring to hear it's a common thing haha.Really appreciating the feedback guys, please keep it coming. If anything it's motivating me further Harry
