dantpro
What is the best Square Tapered bottom bracket on the market at the minute? I just keep snapping them, seriously since i started riding trials i have snapped about 4 or 5, the last one which i snapped was the V!Z Square Taper Bottom Bracket. The first couple of times i snapped it had my local bike shop fit me a new one so i dont think its to do with how tight/ loose it is.Im really not quite sure could anyone give me any help or any ideas you have of your own...Thanks Dan
stritm0nkey
raceface taperlock steel or titanium in my opinion, although i never tried it should be good quality and strength.but square interfaces are outdated arent they

forteh
Shimano solid axle, UN54 is it these days? The isis spindle might be alittle stiffer but the crank interface is a poor design that doesnt facilitate repeated crank removal, the bearings are also much much shorter lived because theyre half the size.Im sticking square taper, mainly because I have 2 sets of RS7s in square and imho its a better system edit: Think the solid axle is UN53 - depends on how heavy you are, if youre a smooth/lighter rider go for the UN54 with the hollow axle Edited April 16, 2008 by forteh
Dan x)
id say un53 he sounds like a heavy rider as he keeps breaking his bb's?
Andeee
The shimano deore lx ones think thats the name. there strong as hell solid steel axel im running my middleburns on it at the moment just remember to grease the tapers before fitting your cranks as they seat in better and prevent creakings.
